"Stone In Love"--Journey. Love the guitar playing in this song and Steve Perry's great vocals on this!
"The Wedding Song"--Paul Stookey...another of the most beautiful songs ever written!
"Rosanna"--Toto
John Stewart: "Gold"

One of the most beautiful songs of all time..."Never My Love" by The Association. Great song!
I really liked "Sonnet," in addition to the two you mentioned. I was disappointed when The Verve broke up (If I remember correctly, I think Richard Ashcroft wanted to embark on a solo career)...but Richard Ashcroft pretty much disappeared from the music scene after the early 2000s. I've always wondered what happened to him and why his solo career never took off.
Yes...big Ohio State fan wrt college football. I actually grew up in Southern Ohio and our TV stations were based out of West Virginia and Kentucky, so I grew up a Kentucky Wildcats fan wrt college basketball. However, since I've lived in Columbus for over 30 years now, I've morphed into an OSU basketball fan as well. I claim "dual fandom" for UK and OSU in college basketball. 😃
"(I've Been) Waiting For A Girl Like You"--Foreigner
My youngest son is really into astronomy. I think last year, if I remember correctly, scientists discovered a black hole that was roughly 13 billion light-years away from Earth. Stuff like that just blows my mind...I just don't think the human mind is capable of processing how vast that is. Things like that can make a person feel awfully tiny!
I love this one also: "People Who Died" by The Jim Carroll Band. We used to have an alternative music station here in Columbus that I listened to a lot and the DJ would always play this song every Friday afternoon at 5:00. I always liked the guitar solo on this song. Another great choice!
I love this song also: "Lucky Man" by The Verve. Richard Ashcroft really had a masterpiece with "Urban Hymns" back in the mid/late 90s. This is indeed a great song...great choice!
"White Wedding"--Billy Idol
Thank you for posting your thoughts on this. I had corresponded with you on the "Cheers" board and was hoping you'd post your thoughts regarding "Frasier."
I'm sorry that you didn't like this. I understand why you don't (Yes, the "Cheers Frasier" is different somewhat than the "Frasier Frasier") and "Frasier" may have just been one of those shows that you had to see back in the 90s. I always thought "Frasier" was more about the supporting cast than about Frasier himself. Niles and Martin (the dad) were probably my favorite characters and I think they actually drove the show more than Frasier did.
I watched "Frasier" fairly regularly through about Season 8 and then it got to be more "hit and miss" for me. I didn't like the way "Frasier" ended...but I don't want to see it brought back for a "reboot" either. I think Kelsey Grammer's a great actor and he had about a 20-year run playing "Frasier," but that's enough, IMO.
Anyway, thank you again for posting your thoughts.
I'll take the easy one: "Rock And Roll" by The Mighty Led Zeppelin. Yes, very appropriate for you...as John Sebastian sang back in the 70s, "Welcome Back!" 😃
My friend told me about this yesterday. I think he really looks good for being 93! I'm not sure what to say about the marriage...he's an American hero, though, and wish him nothing but happiness.
Yes...I was 9 also. I didn't go to see all that many movies when I was growing up, but I did see all the Christopher Reeve Superman movies in the theater with my family. They were "can't miss events" for my family back then.
Yes, sslssg is really excellent at this also. I feel like I should know more of hers than what I do. Unfortunately for me, I have the worst singing voice in the world, so I can't really approach it like she does ( It's a good thing that I don't have to sing these!). 😃
I very much enjoy the posts here, even if I don't know them. A lot of good variety here...it's a lot of fun!
Yes, I remember the old "Name That Tune" game! Those were the days...I probably would've choked like a dog if I were on that show!
I really loved your last paragraph. That is really so true about the power of music...how a song can bring you back to a certain time or era in your life. I really enjoy it when people do that with their music.
Have a great night!
"Baby, I Love Your Way" by a great guitarist...the one and only Peter Frampton!
I'd really like to re-watch this movie again. I saw it a couple of times some years back and I couldn't decide then if I liked the movie or not (I loved the music...but I didn't quite get the story).
Of the Coen Bros. movies I've seen, I'd rank them like this:
1) "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
2) "No Country For Old Men"
3) "Fargo"
4) "Inside Llewyn Davis"
5) "A Serious Man"
6) "The Big Lebowski"
"Eight Men Out" is the only thing I know him for. I love that movie.
