It wasnt SNL level of innocent mocking themselves for laughs. They were showing how horrendous and awful all those celebrities are and those people who worship them. And considering Ariana and Chris actually are those obnoxious privileged celebrities...
They dint understand it. Ariana was just happy to be in a big movie and didnt think too much about her character.
Agree. She is horrible. She is sad depressed all the time for no real reason.
Honestly I thought that she was the one who will be eaten ))) So I was surprised when she died in the plane.

Lefties are not that smart so they couldn't see it. But critics have some brain cells left so they perfectly understood and thats why they didnt like this movie.
Adam McKay tricked all those Hollywood clowns into making this movie by telling them: "Look there is Trump like president, there are patriots, flags". And all of them were sold on that idea and jumped in. Not noticing that all other time movie cruelly ridicules lefties and their obsession with tick tock challenges, worshiping brainless celebrities, obnoxious tv show hosts, not taking anything serious.
When Peter Isherwell told to stop first attempt to destroy comet - they presented it to public as: "Its because there are valuable minerals on that comet. Once we mine them - there will be no poor people and hunger in the world". And stupid lefties believes it and cheered for it.
Ron Perlman is stereotypically racist character. Because this is how lefties see "older people". They constantly were referring ti them as "older generation. things were different then". Again this character was created to trick woke actors to join movie.
There are countless sighs that this movie ridicules lefties. You are just not smart to see it. Also - he didnt even include obligatory alphabet character in the movie. If that doesnt give you sigh....
Meryl Streep character reminded me Selina Meyer from Veep. Who I always thought was a Democrat. Because this is exactly how they behave behind close doors. Kamala Harris is exactly like this. And only poor naive silly lefties actually believe that they are on the same side and level with Left wing policicians and celebrities. While they are just tool for politicians to say in power and celebrities have praise to satisfy their egos.

There is no such things as "identify themselves as female". There are men and there are women. Thats it, this is how universe roles. I feel sorry for those individuals who feel they were born in wrong body. I also feel sorry for people who have cancer. I also feel sorry for people who died at road incident. But that doesnt mean that man can become woman by wishing. He is man, he was born that way. He has to go to therapy, take medication and found a way to accept himself.
You can call him woman all you want but he will still be man. And he knows it. That why so many of them are ending things. Person who has deadly cancer can identify themselves as Healthy, we can even all call them Healthy. But that will not change the fact that they are sick and will die.
98 years old person can identify as 25 years old young person. And we can all pretend they are and tell them. But when they will try to stand up and go running and do what young people do - they will no be able to do so. Because they are fragile old people, they physically cant no matter how they identify themselves. Why is it so hard to understand?
P.S. North America is a continent. Its not a Union. Why would people identify themselves that? Ireland declared independence and is not in Great Britain. So they dont cal themselves British. USSR collapsed and all those countries became independent. None of them identify as Soviets anymore. If Scotland will leave Great Britain one day then they will become just Scottish. Until they are not - they are British and Scottish at the same time.
Hon, I can assure you that no men and no women care enough for this movie to downgrade it.
Did you see the trailer? Its so bad that its hard to even finish it. This movie should have been dumped to streaming. But for some reason they released it and not it will flop spectacular. I assume that no streaming wanted to buy this movie because they saw how bad it was and no one on their platform would watch it.
This was vanity project for Chastain since she is producer. I only wish she would put her own money to lose on this. But those Hollywood actors never do. So some naive businessman or studio will lose because they got tricked into giving money to shoot this flop.
In 50 years when all this madness will end and people will return to normality - future people will look down at what was happening now and wonder how whole world could bow down to mentally ill people who created all this insanity.
All those wokesters should have stayed in their echo chambers of their twitter feed. Yet for some reason politicians decided to go crazy too and started following mentally ill people and implement every crazy thought they make up.
Actually, leftists have convinced themselves that this is a "climate change" movie because they are into it and this is their current trendy theme to go crazy about.
But in fact, this is a film about a comet that flies to earth and stu pid people who do not take it seriously. There is no other meaning behind it.
This is weird post. You dont understand what Great Britain is. Its a union of four countries. Same way USSR was a union of some 15 countries. And people who lived there were called "soviets" as in meaning - people of USSR. While still having their nationality written in their passport.
Those countries in USSR were ruled by one government set in capital. While being somehow let have their identity and local rulers were being appointed by capital government. But people living in there were still having their identity, they knew they were armenians, russians, estonians. Same with Great Britain. They are all British. While being at the same time scotish, irish, english, welsh.
People who live in Scotland are scottish and british at the same time. When welsh person will come to live in Scotland they will be "welsh living in Scotland" and not scotish. But all of them are british.
Its beyond me why on earth you would compare this to when men are throwing themselves in women spaces.
Just for sake sake of joke I guess. That would not happen in real life. It was weird. And unfunny. And that joke kept going forever since she kept bringing it up.
Reminded me when SNL does a 5 minutes long segment around the same joke and it gets boring around 30 seconds mark. So I turn it off.
Because this film disguises itself as anti-conservative, but in fact laughs from the lefties and cruelly ridicules the culture of worshiping the celebrities. Many people on the left did not understand this, including the actors who starred in the film. But the critics understood this perfectly. That's why they didn't like it ))))
