You make a very good point. I'm sure sexism does play a role in a lot of people's dismissiveness. But to play devil's advocate, with Wick, he looks about the same mass as the people he's fighting. In a lot of these action films with female leads, the women are often noticeably smaller than the majority of their opponents. In addition to battle damage, I thought it was cool that Lorraine is clearly physically outmatched by the vast majority of her opponents who were far larger than her. She wins, but when she has to rely purely on hand-to-hand, she's struggling. This was my ranking of Wan films. If I were to put Conjuring 3 in this list, it would between the two Insidious films. 1. Malignant 2. Conjuring 2 3. Death Sentence 4. Aquaman 5. The Conjuring 6. Insidious 7. Insidious 2 8. Dead Silence 9. Furious 7 Bingo. On the money. lol okay bud. The only thing that article confirms is something no one disagreed with. That's creating a movie around a single concept is not a novel thing to do. Most of the points you brought up in your original post are still nonsense. He didn't confirm your complaints at all. No one was amused by your pun. Disappointing. re: dude, I loved The Suicide Squad too. I was so shocked at how much I liked it. I was afraid of a Guardians clone, and I was so pleased to see it was not. I actually haven't gotten disney+ yet so I'm not caught up on the shows but the only one I really have an interest in is Wandavision (and Hawkeye), and that's mainly cause form what I hear, it sounds really weird, and a few ppl think I'd dig its strange narrative. I've been meaning to check out Doom Patrol. Titans let me down hard after the first few eps of S1 but I've heard generally positive things about Doom. Sorry to hear about all your local theaters :( that's rough. I'm a big theatergoer, so I'm hoping the industry survives all of this. Seems like it is so far...scarlett's lawsuit seemed to have helped in part XD. But yeah, hope you enjoy shang-chi. Based on what you're saying so far, I think you might not lol...but at the very least, I do think the movie is better than what the trailer had me believe. lol why do you continue to post here when you have nothing to say? I enjoyed Black Widow, but my interest in that film is beyond an interest in the material. I liked it as a fast paced action film. I'm the type of viewer who enjoyed Fast 9, so the spectacle that was the final act of Black Widow was exciting for me (most of it). I'm pretty much over the MCU since Endgame too, though I admit the third act of Shang-Chi got me kinda hyped. I'm not really looking forward to anything honestly. I only have a vague interest in Hawkeye because of Yelena but at this point, I'd be more interested to see comic book films tread new ground in general. (I'm disappointed that James Wan's horror spinoff of Aquaman got cancelled for instance.) Bland's a good word. I'm really glad Suicide Squad was so fucking weird and offbeat. Really hope these films take more risks at breaking the mold. Our world is just currently obsessed with the MCU, and disney has enough money to buy up all this hype. But like, she literally can't. She's starring with Indiana Jones so they'd probably just spin her off into another movie. Amusingly, Anya Taylor-Joy was cast as a Thomasin in Vvitch, so definitely a name lol. Cause everyone loves Tarentino. It's hard for anyone to argue against anything other than a strawman when OP provided nothing of substance to reply to. Besides,
I have ALWAYS liked action girls, since the days of the Xena Warrior Princess, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Sara Connor, But, when it seems to be the only story being told, it isn't cool.
But it's obviously not the only story being told. Homepage of this website is proof against that. So you're being insulted by something that you've invented. Same. The weirdness of it worked so well. Very bold film to be honest. I much preferred this strange, zany, genre-defying movie over something like Guardians of the Galaxy. https://www.ign.com/articles/triplets-twins-sequel-arnold-schwarzenegger-danny-devito-tracy-morgan-cast Man, I was looking forward to seeing Murphy for this. You kinda started it here. That's what he said. That's how people felt. But ultimately, that isn't what happened. Sometimes, ppl say things, and the things aren't true. I'm sure you know how that is. lol okay bud. Glad everyone else provide more intelligent discussion than anything you could muster.
He was an emotionally disturbed war veteran who'd lost his daughter and was going to extraordinary, immoral, lengths (i.e. rape) to replace her, who then had his home invaded by delinquents.
I liked the fact that this movie implies that he acknowledges that what he did to that poor girl in part one was rape, since as I recall, he denied it then or he was trying to downplay the atrocity of what he was doing.
