Creed II is the best of the Creed movies thus far. I think it would have been better if Ivan Drago helped in the training camp. There was a missed opportunity for major character development of Ivan. He could have been a man who deeply regretted what happened to Apollo and this was his way of honoring Apollo's legacy. I would have liked to have seen Ludmilla and Mary-Ann have a moment. Apollo was a much greater boxer than Rocky. The only reason Apollo lost to Rocky was he was exhausted and Rocky weathered the storm. Up until the end of the fight Apollo dominated Rocky completely and would have won easily on points. Basically, Apollo punched himself out while Rocky, just hung in there. At no time did Rocky ever dominate Apollo. Regarding his fight with Drago, Apollo was ancient for a boxer of the time. In the 80's a boxer in his 30s was considered an old man. This was before modern training methods, nutrition, and cherry picking opponents, all of which have prolonged the careers of modern boxers. Not only was Apollo old, but he also had 5 years of ring rust. It wasn't like he was an active boxer. On top of that, he arrogantly went into the match without proper training apparently thinking he was in the best shape of his life when he clearly wasn't. Maybe it was all projection. Lorraine assumed all girls were up to her old shenanigans. Come to think of it, Jennifer was a bad girl from the McFly family's point of view. In part II Doc said he went to a rejuvenation clinic which essentially reverted his biological age back to his 1955 self. He would end up being the same age as old man doc brown from the first film. Freddie's only hope in life was to find a high school sweetheart because he isn't going to be a sought after bachelor. Since all the potential partners associated him with Daniel, his hopes of a future family went down the drain. Yet another life ruined by Daniel. Jaws the Revenge has the best renditions of The First Noel and Hark the Herald Angel Sing ever put on film. It is absolutely a Christmas movie. There is also a Christmas tree and presents scene later in the film. It even includes the Boxing Day celebration, the junkanoo. Bonus tip, if you watch this movie back-to-back with The Muppet's Christmas Carol you can have a Michael Caine Christmas marathon. Can Bruce the shark be considered a Muppet? The movie isn't as bad as many make it out to be. The acting is decent and it plays straight. It isn't cheesy or lowbrow entertainment. It just seems like it was made by amateurs who did the best job they could with limited ability. If you think the title "Revenge" has to do with Ellen's revenge on the shark for killing Sean then the plot is a little more plausible. That would be like saying, why does an angler need to go hiking and fishing on some remote mountain river? He can just go to the supermarket and get some fish. We would have no way of related to their motivations. Daniel was trained by the YMCA at that point. His kicking ability as good enough for Miyagi to instantly recognize it as karate and not him training for soccer or even muay thai. Daniel's tournament victory is highly questionable and Johnny was feeling conflicted when Daniel took advantage, but I digress. Their next real fight was when Daniel assumed Johnny was hurting Samantha, rather than allowing her and his own estranged son a place to sleep off their big mistake in a safe way. Johnny whooped Daniel clearly. Johnny defeated Daniel at the beach, in his apartment. Daniel only won in a tournament with rules. Whenever it was for real, Johnny always won. Also, I think Tatsu would be less forgiving of Daniel's temperament than Miyagi. "You mean in a boxing match where opponents are there to do exactly that to each other?" I suppose you have a point. Mike Tyson said he was going to do unspeakable things to Lennox Lewis and despite almost winning, Tyson didn't actually follow through with his comments. "Also, if Barnes and Snake really believed Daniels threat to kill them would they have pulled him up, or just threw him the rope and scarpered?" Absolutely they did. That is why Snake demanded the tree as an insurance policy. Clubber Lang said he was going to beat Rocky like a dog, and he did just that. "Threatens the lives of opponents. Really? Fuck off!" So saying Mike Barnes and Snake are "dead!" in a seriously angry and threatening tone isn't threatening lives? He literally said they are "dead." There is no ambiguity there. I'll take this response as conceding defeat. None of my points are refutable. Miyagi-Do, as Daniel practices it, relies on deception, cheapshots, and psychology. Deception: Appear weak by groveling. Evidence: Daniel on his hands and knees before Chozen at the club. Daniel during his match with Barnes. Cheapshots: Low blow on Chozen. Hosing down Johnny and Cheap shotting Johnny when Johnny tried to end their confrontation peacefully. Too many more to name. Psychology: Threaten the lives of his opponents in an attempt of intimidation. Appear to be weak so they can let their guards down just long enough for him to get a quick point. Was there ever a more face palming moment than when Daniel actually tried to convince Miyagi that he was doing sit ups in bed? This is Daniel we are talking about. He is as the Foghorn Leghorn describes his own love interest. https://youtu.be/eNAtGmQ6i3o Was Daniel really that dumb to think anyone would fall for his story? Yes. Or did Daniel actually make it a habit of catching up on his sit ups while in bed which accounted for his fatness? It is quite possible. He was able to perform a few situps, which indicates there is some muscle memory going on. Maybe he is watching the World Cup?
