if you touch
What you touch?! Worms entered the pool of the black goo and they got mutated.
if you fuck infected with it
Obviously the sperm too would be infected and so the fertilized egg and hence a birth of Facehugger (Trilobite) because Facehuggers comes from the Egg stage!
that turns into a giant in two hours
Really? Then you should be bashing Alien: Romulus left & right! This one's a hell of a double standard. And it was much more than two hours. Watch the movie again. So many things happened from her delivering the baby and returning back to the lifeboat.
infects an Engineer....with a xenomorph, take that!
He was facehugged!! And you do know the outcome after one is facehugged. Seriously, if there's anything inconsistent, it's your brain! I'm not saying Scott's prequels were perfect. I didn't like the way Black Goo vases were bombarded in Alien: Covenant which turned into a swarm of insects - as I always saw it as a mutant liquid. That, I would say rather inconsistent/unexplained or too contrived so as to fit as per the writer's choice. Oh Wow! So convenient. I'm sure when asked by your teacher what's the square root of 256, you would have replied 'I don't know where to start but it's like...how 3 is for 9' Enough chatting with you! What was inconsistent in Prometheus?? Logical inconsistency is logical inconsistency irrespective of whether you liked Prometheus or not. And it's also true that Fede could have remained consistent, created a new variation and yet made it terrifying. That creature was a lame reminiscent of the Alien baby as in Alien: Resurrection. It was not even terrifying; just creepy! And the Black Goo DOES NOT have Engineer's DNA. The Black goo was originally manufactured by the Engineers as a Bio-weapon using DNA of the Protomorph (Original creature proposed in Prometheus and as reflected in the Mural of the Black Goo brewing room) so the following mutations will result into variations carrying its predatory characteristics. It was shocking to see the logical inconsistency of the alien baby emerging as a Xeno-Engineer Hybrid. This was just a desperate contrivance to tie up with Prometheus. It was a lost opportunity. Had they used the concepts of Ultramorph or a different version of Deacon; it would have been truly terrifying and marked the launch of a new creature while saying good bye to the over-played Xenomorphs. Alien Aliens Prometheus Alien: Covenant Alien: Romulus Alien: Resurrection Alien 3 Oh really?.....Great then! I'm curiously waiting for 23rd - the day its releasing in my country.
Say what you want about Ridley’s prequels, they at least allow for some invention in a franchise whose main beast has been done to death.
Absolutely correct!! Fede could have tried to explore those areas since anyway this was a standalone movie. Even Emotions in Humans is programing...the result of biochemical processes and neural circuits in the brain, functioning like programmed responses to stimuli. So, David too is programmed for responses. It's Physics. It will happen to all kind of liquids. The writer/directors perhaps weren't aware or missed the logic. I'm not saying that the scene couldn't have happened had they followed this law of physics. The scene could have still happened with Spherical blobs of Acid Blood and the crews trying to avoid hitting them. May have looked aesthetically even better. Wow! Nice campaign. Would have loved to be part of it. What a dumb post! Yeah....that one was little over the top. What kind of Light wave are we still missing which can do that?? 1. Covenant Sequel will be the most anticipated one, because it's intriguing & fresh new storyline which also offers different Xeno variations, themes & explores the Space-jockey universe. 2. Alien: Romulus, because it's from Fede after all! 3. Blomkamp's Aliens Sequel could have been my No.2 because it could offer much more creativity than just outright horror/action, but we don't know much details.
Wooden Acting, Horrible Script, Zero Chemistry
Absolutely Agree. Both Dune 1 & 2 turned the original concept of dark neo-noir capable of artistic H.R. Giger-eqsue movie universe with strong characters and story - into a fairy tale fantasy with bland characters. An absolute disgrace on behalf of Denis Vil. I think, you missed a lot. It was all explained during their planning and during the conference where they showed graphical presentation of how they plan to sink Godzilla. The Godzilla was attached with numerous Freon (Refrigerant) Gas Cylinders which when released, drops the surface tension and hence the buoyancy, sinking Godzilla as the gas keeps releasing throughout its downfall trajectory. It wasn't practical but most of CGI; even the water, ships, buildings, landscapes & the creature of-course. And the CGI was damn good. But the thing it made so awe-inspiring is the perfect use of color pallet & tint which made everything blended very well and looked realistic. It's an achievement that such a small team with minimum budget, achieved such a detailed CGI. Cinematography also added much value and justice to the CGI. The scene of Koichi shooting directly on Godzilla's mouth is an amazing shot! The post-world war II set-up also complimented the CGI as the weapons/mines/ships added that raw & rustic look elevating the realism. Godzilla's robotic way of walk was a tribute to the original by choice, and they didn't opt for the typical Hollywood over-fluidic style by giving a slight touch of stop-animation. Absolutely worth the Oscar! Good that Steve Morse is out! He never gave any single great song. Never expected Smoke or Highway, but he wasn't even capable of doing something like Burn! Ted the Mechanic, Sometimes I feel like Screaming & Rapture was the best he could do! Hope McBride gets back the Riff-laden heart-pumping numbers, light & age-suitable though. Portable Door was a good start, fingers crossed!
1. It's absurd that the survivor mechanic from Oda Island would still try blaming Shikashima for not shooting Godzilla with the Zero fighters 20mm cannon to "Save" the other machanics by shooting it. Godzilla by then took out Battleships.
That night on Oda Island, Godzilla was young & small in size. It wouldn't have been killed though, but the mechanic could still have that contention.
