Interesting.... the people I worked with were a mixed group of black, white and Hispanics, it was mostly the white people that were cheering. The whole thing was weird though, it's like the entire country paused for a moment to hear the verdict. At work, we all stopped what we were doing and listened to a radio broadcast of it.

I think it's become a "woke" thing though. Anyone that remotely does something "black" gets called out for it but we never do it when the roles are reversed. When artists of color sound "white" do we ever complain about it?
Those articles are wrong though, plenty of black artists were successful doing blues/rock back in the day. I mean, Chuck Berry was immensely popular and many do credit him for creating rock and roll not Elvis. Like many artists before and after, Elvis was a product of his time. His style wasn't entirely unique but he was one of the best at doing it. Kind of like Eminem is one of the best ever at rapping. Funny how we rarely hear someone complain about Eminem but I would gather that his day is coming, thanks to idiots like those in your links.
I've never heard anyone complaining about Elvis "appropriating" music or him having a tarnished reputation. Some people did think his relationship with Priscilla was perhaps innopropriate but him and his music are still popular today.

I have to admit, it does seem like the democrat party embraces a wacky religion like Islam which is like Christianity on steroids but then they'll bash Christianity whenever they get a chance to. Their love for Islam doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, it's extremely repressive. Just look how fucked up some Muslim nations are. The fact that we let them into the west by the droves is shocking.
As far as Islam gaining enough power to influence anti-gay sentiment among libs/democrats is hard to say but if it means staying in power, they would probably allow it. Vote republican because the average conservative hates Islam.
While SR is a great movie, they borrowed a lot of ideas from other prison films. FG was more original. I like FG more but you really can't go wrong with either film.
The Chinese seem to make all kinds of parts for hardware but games are considered software. Most people just download games now, not likely the cost will go up on that end. Who knows about the hardware though...
I used to play multiple videogames back in the day but I have narrowed it down to just one game that I play right now and a few browser based games. Right now I only play WGT Golf for PC and mobile devices. It's pretty fun and uber realistic, and it's free to play but upgraded clubs cost money. And yeah, I think it was made by Chinese guys but the company that produced it (TopGolf) is located in the US. lol...
However, it was made years ago before tensions between the US and China became a thing. I'm not too worried about the cost of the game, since it's more or less an "app" that you can download on your mobile device or PC. And so far, nothing has changed in pricing.
Fair enough, he is out there. I like his movies but I can't say the ones I've seen have been "great" films but they're solid movies in my opinion. I also really liked The Lobster. But again, if you didn't care for PT, you probably wouldn't like TL.

To be honest, the thing I kind of agree with is not telling suspects "why" they're getting arrested. I've noticed that cops don't typically do this. In the movie, Stan and Bill don't know what they're being charged with. It's usually assumed that a person knows why they're getting arrested but it's not always the case.
But yeah, never use a movie as a reference guide for any legal system in the world. I mean, in real life, it's not likely that Stan and Bill would've been held for anymore than about 48 hours, they honestly didn't have enough evidence to charge them with anything.
I thought it was a good film, sure it's a quirky, hipsterish barrel of laughs. But hey, it is Lanthimos movie. What were you expecting? I suppose you could make a better film, right?

MC is a great site, it kind of replaced the IMDB movie boards but not very many people are singed up, maybe you can get a few peeps from IMDB1 to join this site.
