Quite easily - she had more motivations than Luke.
Luke's primary aim was to become a Jedi, and so being turned to the Dark Side is literally the opposite of that. All the promises and taunts from Palpy and Vader didn't turn his head, he'd sooner die. Saving his father came next, he wanted to drag him back to the Light. He only flipped out when Vader threatened to try and turn Leia. And even then, notice he was bashing his blade against Vader's, not necessarily aiming for a killing blow. He stopped once Vader's hand was severed. For Luke, it was all about becoming a Jedi and keeping or bringing those close to him to the Light. Stopping the Empire was tangential to this, rather than his main goal.
Leia meanwhile wanted to get rid of the Empire and restore the Republic. That's not only a more tangible goal, but one which could be achieved by using the Dark Side. Just like how Anakin could have been manipulated by the promise of using Dark powers to save Padme, while Obi Wan didn't have anything he wanted to tempt him.
throughout all six movies it's made clear than when it comes to uses of the Force which are explicitly Dark, there is no turning back. Killing the Emperor wouldn't be as simple as shoving a lightsabre in his face or shooting a blaster; to be able to overpower him you'd either need to be a spectacular Jedi like Yoda or Mace Windu ... Or use Dark powers. Dark powers aren't a one-and-done thing, Leia literally wouldn't be able to walk away from his corpse and hang up her sabre. During a vote or something she wanted to go through, she'd use her powers to manipulate the voters. If she wanted something built and it wasn't going quick enough, she could use her powers to make it faster. Every time would be a "just this once", and before long she'd be a fully fledged Dark Side using tyrant.
That could be it, maybe I just subconsiously recognised the house!
The hospital had a floor marked G, which is very non-American haha
The dubbing was pretty good, but the obviously Spanish names attached to people with obviously American accents was a bit jarring. I wouldn't have minded if they'd have "Anglicized" the names a bit.
I mean, it's not impossible that an American (sounding) man would have a European name, but that many people, all running into each other? Or to flip it, that many Spanish people who speak English in thick American accents.
On that note, they talked about "moving to Barcelona" but he rang 911!
It's the first time Luke Skywalker has been onscreen since 1983, why wouldn't people be emotional?
Well, why not? It's set when he's still alive. Nothing actually says he stayed on Dagobah from Revenge to Empire.
The bigger picture was that it was a shame we didn't really see him as Harvey.
Maybe Will's cameraphone will be able to "see" the Specters?
While Will is obviously poor, a ~13 year old not even having a crap smartphone is just unrealistic. Mary having a 90s computer would be even more unrealistic.
Jesus woman, get a grip.
To be fair it could happen anywhere and "anywhen"
Like yeah some of the tech is now massively outdated, some "box televisions" could plausibly be in someone's house if they didn't have much money and never were able to get a new one ... but their TV is clearly too ancient to be now! Yeah the fashions are very 60s.
I always used to think she misunderstood and he meant "I'm a [person who works here] and you're a [guest]"
I think that regardless of the actor's age, Robin was meant to be late teens-early twenties. I'd guess Ivy is meant to be 30ish, and her skills and prestige are due to genius rather than time in the field.
Well no, but why does it matter? The Wachoswskis' movies are great.
it's nice when a network ignores critics & ratings to champion a show they believe in
Let's give it a chance, it could get better! Modern Star Trek is crap (and also keeps going!) so this and Orville can fill the void :)
If every single day of their lives was like one of their episodes, then yeah I think they would have killed each other and/or themselves! While on the other hand, them just getting on and having a nice day would make a boring episode.
The extra-terrestrial force manifested itself as a spider monster. The spider monster can turn into anything and it can read minds, so it can turn into things which scares its victims. It likes to scare them because it makes their flesh taste nicer. (I guess the flight-or-fight hormones do this?)
It's not entirely clear if killing the spider form actually kills it entirely, or just expels it from the universe. So it's possible that the malevolent form still exists, but can't come back to Earht.
yeah even Michelle tried to convince her to stay with him when she heard.
maybe they all just hate Lisa...
To be fair, Harley Quinn is meant to be sad and pathetic.

There's a funny line with things like this.
Good CGI is more expensive than good practical effects. But CGI is easier to do as it's done on a computer rather than on set/location.
Bad CGI is cheaper than bad practical effects. Think of those various cheesy dinosaur/shark/whatever movies. The effects on them are almost achievable using at home software! But if those films used practical effects, they would be more expensive.
Ten things? Can solve it in half that:
1. Better director
2. Better writer
3. Different cast
4. Being closer to the actual Bird of Prey comics
5. Harley Quinn actress having zero creative input
