I have always thought that the scene where Kitty turns to the MC and says " They're laughing at him" should have had some more dialogue than the MC saying " Laughing at him they're howling at him" the mother then saying " I won't have my son laughed at Take him off" , Then the MC says " Take him off nothing he's the hit of the show" and Momma says " Well if you won't take him off I will" and of course the last " You can't break up that act " and the mothers says "Oh No". I always felt there should have been more lines from each the mother and the MC. I don't know what works people have agreed saying as many as more lines from each.
You mentioned in the German BL version they added lines or noises made by Kitty after her dress is caught and she lets out with her yell. What sounds or lines were actually added?

I think she is overjoyed that she caught Kitty the way she did. She would have had to look and see that the grommet hook had come free when Kitty put the pole into the electrical socket. I was told by a friend who worked in the theater and knew how these curtains worked told me there are grommets on the top and bottom of these stage curtains preventing them from opening side to side. If it is required they unhook the grommet pins and they can open curtains from side to side. What happens when Kitty gets shocked she opens the grommet and then it is dangling off the bottom of the curtain and as she pulls that curtain behind her the grommet is poised right between her shoes and her dress hem.

well to show you on the video of BL that is listed as the ending in slow motion a new person came in the other day saying he knew there was something erotic about the short he didn't know what exactly but he thought it was a humiliation fetish. I responded to him with what I thought was the answer and mine post was on my page and I asked a friend what he thought of my answer and he said there was nothing there but it was on my page . Then I read another person answer and it was up for a few hours then it disappeared.

This is a great question and it took me a while to think it out. First in his book about the subject Ginsberg says the mother certainly didn't plan her stage debut and she did scream out when she realized her dress hem was caught on a rising curtain. Ginsberg says you can tell she loved every minute of it from her dress got caught and after she becomes sphinixed because after her dress is gone she doesn't run away, she stays gawking up at her tattered dress and makes no attempt to hide. Ginsberg says she secretly loved the events as she was clearly the center of attention and all eyes were on her. I think I have to agree with Leonard Ginsberg on the subject.
I can't speak about it first hand myself. Several years ago we had a young man, who was a huge fan of "Beginner's Luck", tell us his story. It seems he had a friend who was a graphic artist and made a life sized stage prop for this guy. He was single and recently lost his corporate job and found himself a grade school teacher. He told us he dated fellow teachers and also some of the divorced moms from the kids in his school and also his class. He also dated single ladies he met here and there. The guy told a very believable story and myself and some of the other guys all wished we had a prop back in our single days. We too were fascinated how he would get these women to pose behind the prop and we questioned him about him many times. It seems to answer your question from this man's point of view all women eventually posed behind the prop some were nude others in various types of underwear. So it's not extroverts or exhibitionists or cowgirls or anything that would put them into a group. It was all women eventually posed. The least forward posed in their undies.
I read your post early this morning and after I read it I reread it several times. To be honest with you so much went thru my mind I went for a three hour walk along the beach. I thought of actually going to Kitty's grave,and yes my heart would be pounding too, I thought to myself maybe her headstone was the stage prop with a stone head likeness of Kitty's on top. Then I said if she was in an unmarked grave what happened was she divorced or maybe she never married and never had children. Then I thought of Mickey Daniels who also was inn a unmarked grave until the fans of the rascals took up a collection and finally put a headstone up for him. I'd love to hear any more if you would or could tell us about Kitty.

One of the major reasons that Beginner's Luck works is the fact the mother freezes om stage, If she had run off it wouldn't have worked. if she wasn't kneeling with her head tilted up looking up for her dress with her mouth open it just doesn't work as well

Of course I was told of a movie that came out in 1977-78 and no one can remember the name of it as it was a b movie with no name actors in it. I never saw the film myself. But I know the general storyline. It's about a group of semi rich kids attending a prep school. One of the boys is in a car driving with his mother when the mother spots one of his teachers and announces she is going to take the teacher to lunch the boy is angry and begs her not to do so. The mother tells the boy its a good thing to do some degree of brownnosing. The teacher agrees to the moms request, The teacher tells them he knows of a nice diner close by and they drive there. It turns out to be a greasy spoon and the mom has her nose out of joint going there. It has a game room in the back room and the boy gets up and goes into the game room. The mom starts to brown up the teacher and he puts his hand on her knee and starts to move it up her leg. The mother is stunned but doesn't stop him. The boy is playing a video game and a group of lower economic kids about his age come in and watch him play. One of them turns and asks him to give them his prep school blaser. He refuses but eventually gives up his jacket. The mother sees this and gets away from the teacher and rushes into the game room with all the people in the diner watching and demands the kids give the jacket back. The gang switches the table on her and demand she take off her dress and give it to them. This has gotten the attention of all the people in the diner and they are all enjoying watching this. She hems and haws but you see her stepping out of her dress and she stands there in her underwear with all howling laughing at her. The next scene you hear wild laughter and you see the diner from the outside and the door flies open and the mother and her son rush out running. Both are naked and running
no he was supposed to play Spanky but ill never know if it was ever really done as he never sent the pics to me as he promised.
I had a guy I met online in the yahoo group he started asking me questions about how to buy the clothing from BL. H e started sending me photos of the berets , slips, stockings and shoes. Then he sent me a picture of his wife she was a very cute blonde with short hair. It went on and on and he told me she wouldn't pose because he wanted her son from a previous marriage in the spanky role. Eventually her sister was over and he got them drunk and walla both posed buy=t he promised to send me photos but never did.
I always thought that no mother would ever do what happened in this short. But as my life went along I met at least 6 ladies that had daughters and had grandsons around the same age as these characters and guess what every one told me if their daughter ever did what Spanky's mom did they would do exactly as the grandma did. All told me she deserved it and they would have loved giving her the works.
