LOL - it really is possible to avoid most of it unless you are a shopaholic and in stores constantly. Right now I'm seeing more Halloween decorations than anything else. And why are insurance people going to hell? My husband was in the insurance business for over 40 years - I need to know so I can prepare him for his fiery future. Hobby Lobby starts setting it up July1st every year. I haven't opted out of Christmas but have made it very clear to my family and friends that I don't do gifts with adults. I don't need or want anything and they are all in financial position where they don't need anything either. We all agree that experiences are much better "gifts" so we do things together and I host holiday parties for my friends. It is the time of the year to support charities that help people who are truly needy. Everyone should do what makes them feel good about Christmas whatever that may be. Big Ohio State fan here - our D looks bad and if it wasn't for MHJ and Henderson we wouldn't have much of a team. I hope we get better - sooner than later. Cosmetic surgery - primarily elective procedures and no insurance policies to get involved with. The one that really pisses me off right now is the Jardiance commercial with the obese woman happily dancing around and proclaiming to the world she has her type 2 diabetes under control because all she has to do is take a little pill each day. No honey, you don't - lose 100 pounds or maybe more and you just might not have type 2 diabetes. That one always makes me laugh. LOL - I used to think I had an invisible sign in my yard that only cats could see telling them to stop here to be taken care of. When I was a kid we would go downtown to shop and that always included a stop at the dime store's soda fountain. One of the treats we would get would be a cherry coke made from scratch - delish. I do volunteer work for a cat rescue organization and we take care of feral cat colonies - we provide food and shelter, but the cats won't come near us. True ferals really don't socialize with people and are almost always afraid of them. Feral kittens can be hissy and very difficult/impossible to pick up. Strays are different - at some point they have had human interactions and can be picked up. I imagine your sister picked up a stray cat or kitten that had be abandoned rather than a true feral. Glad your sister brought home cats/kittens so they would have a home. She is a dependent feral and definitely not tame. I located her in my back garage when she was probably about 4 months old. She wouldn't come near me so I made a barricade where she could eat and drink without having the other outdoor cats I had at the time get to her. She thrived but I have never touched her. After all these years, she runs off from people and even though she will meow at me, she won't come near - so I leave her food out and once I'm inside she will come up to eat. I did trap her and have her spayed and I should have kept her in the cage to try to tame her but I didn't so she remains a wild cat that knows where to come for food, water, shelter. Her name is Gizzie and she is a gorgeous black and white long hair. I had a bad headache and that is what prompted me to test. I never get headaches, so that made me think it was something besides a cold. No chills - a slight fever the first day, then it went away. Just tired. Thanks everyone for the good wishes! Today I lost my taste - bummer. Good time to clean out my fridge and eat leftovers. My feral cat, (not really a pet), is 10 - had her since she was a kitten. I have two house cats - Max is a year old and Miss Kitty is two. Coke, but that was a treat. At home we drank Kool Aid. (Remember, this was the 50's - LOL) Thanks - Work not a problem - we are both retired. I can understand kids not playing outside when it's in the mid 90's but they aren't outdoors when it's nice either. I love summer and I'm out on my patio regardless of the temperature - I don't get people who want to stay inside all of the time. OK, but that one is The Grand ------- Hotel, which is fictional and not The Grand Hotel, which is real. Mackinac Island - on my bucket list Dark Fate. As a Terminator junkie I had high hopes, but unfortunately it was a total mess.
