Tbh America deserved it
3 million people died from pneumonia last year, where’s your outrage?
Jeez, you’re acting like we’re living in a nuclear holocaust or something. People went through much worse than this 80-100 years ago. All we’re dealing with now is a little Virus that got blown out of hand by the media.
Watch the scene again degenerate. Walt flips Jane over on her back and then does nothing as she choked to death. He’s guilty of negligent homicide or at least manslaughter. And yeah, “worried about Jesse”, LoL, he was worried Jane was going to rat him out to the cops. Please. Walt is a narcissistic psychopath. This show obviously went over your head.
Of course Walt was at fault you idiots, he broke into her house then flipped her over onto her back where he watched her die when he could have helped. Legally Walt would be guilty of manslaughter or gross negligence, not to mention breaking and entering.
Not as bad as the US government
There is a similar anecdote in Stephen Ambrose’s D-Day book.
When the Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, a lot of the Wehrmacht soldiers they fought were conscripts from across the Nazi empire. In one of the bunkers they found surrendering Axis soldiers who were actually from Korea.
It had turned out they were born in Korea and recruited into the Imperial Japanese Army, where they were then sent to fight the Russians during the border conflicts in the 1930s. Eventually they were captured by the Soviets and drafted into the Red Army, where they were transported all the way to Eastern Europe to fight against the Germans. Eventually they were captured again by the Nazis and drafted into the Wehrmacht, where they were sent to the Western front to guard Hitler’s Atlantic fortress, where they were finally captured by the Americans.

To my ear, SNAFU tried to get into the Cajun manner of speaking and came close from time to time. My point is that he was not trying to be OTT with a southern drawl. Cajuns just naturally chop their words. He did come much closer than Sledge did in portraying the correct manner of speaking.

To me, the actor who played Doc Roe in Band of Brothers did a more convincing job at portraying the Cajun accent than the one in The Pacific did. And that actor was also from the UK.
My mother saw this when it was on television in the mid 60s, and she said even then it looked old fashioned.
Tons of great songs. In fact, his deep album cuts were often better than his hits. Examples:
“Anything That’s Rock n Roll”
“Hometown Blues”
“Hurt”
“Listen to Her Heart”
“Luna”
“Century City”
“Louisiana Rain”
“Something Big”
“Night Watchman”
“King’s Road”
“Thing About You”
“Spike”
“Runaway Train”
“All Mixed Up”
“My Life/Your World”
“Depending on You”
“Yer So Bad”
“King’s Highway”
“You and I Will Meet Again”
“Honeybee”
“Walls(Circus)”
So all the songs on the first side of Full Moon Fever eh?
“If you’re not with me... then you’re my ENEMY”
Uuunlimited Poooweeerr!!!
Oddly enough, this also applies to George Lucas. Money ruins everything.
It was typical overrated Nolan junk. Even the actual rescue was a big let down. The movie “Atonement” portrayed Dunkirk far better with just a 5 minute long take of the evacuation.
The one that really touched me was the ending of The Savage Time, when Wonder Woman goes back to the future to visit the WW2 vet in the retirement home. You’re left thinking she would have forgotten about him, but when you see she remembers him and is going to keep company for the last years of his life, really made me well up.
Citizen Kane was groundbreaking in a number of ways. One of the first films to show the ceiling in a scene, the first to use deep focus, also innovative use of chiaroscuro lighting. Also the way the story is structured around the mystery of a man who we never really meet, so in some ways the movie is very meta in that it’s all about the style of the story and not the actual substance.
Sorry, but this Big budget remake of the original 1996 Chris Columbus picture is far inferior. Ben Batfleck is no Harrison Ford.
in this case it is not if you know what the axis forces did to civilians and prisoners of war
Good thing the Russians and Chinese did most of the fighting and dying then. They were actually worse than the Axis. Mao killed 50 million of his own people in only two years, and Stalin killed just as many. We just exchanged one pair of sociopathic powers for another.
Getting on an eagle would give Sauron an easy view of where the Ring was they’re inevitably spotted. Or the ring would just corrupt the eagle and it would fly straight to Sauron.
