Considering the existence of Zombi 5, the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake, the Uwe Boll House of the Dead movie, 28 Weeks Later (28 Days Later is good though) and the World War Z movie with Brad Pitt, Hell of the Living Dead is nowhere near the worst zombie movie ever made. Worst zombie movie ever IMO would be a tie between World War Z and the 2008 Day of the Dead remake. At least Hell of the Living Dead is entertaining in that campy late 70's B movie sort of way. I have to admit, I miss the days when Inuyasha was the big thing in the anime fandom and for a shojo anime, it was very violent and bloody relatively speaking. Like, Inuyasha isn't even one of the main "grimdark" anime of the early 2000's and it's a lot edgier than My Hero Academia, and I mean that in a good way. I respectfully disagree. In my opinion, Brotherhood sucked and the first anime was a lot better and more enjoyable. Being a faithful adaptation of the manga alone does not make Brotherhood better than the first anime. I love fanfiction, especially old-school stuff from the 1990's and early 2000's. I'll definitely check these out. Amen! I was born in 1993, so I missed out on seeing it in the theaters. But I watched it all the time on VHS and local cable back then. I first saw the movie when I was a little kid in the late 90's/early 2000's (ah, the joy of permissive Gen X parents) and I was both terrified and enthralled by it. What the OP said about feeling like you're in the movie is dead on the money. And I will second the recommendation of the Extended Mall Hours cut. That's become sort of my Halloween tradition each year now. The 2004 remake was lame and was ultimately forgotten, it's only real legacy at all was being parodied on South Park when they did the episode about the homeless. I'd also have Roger live longer, either have him die fighting the bikers near the end or maybe he could live and escape with Peter and Francine. I'd also include more scenes of what's going on outside the mall, kind of like the stuff at the beginning where the SWAT Team raid the apartment complex or when the rednecks were helping the military shoot zombies in the rural areas. Maybe also have some more scenes of the TV broadcasts as well. If you're a horror fan, especially if you like zombie movies, you'll appreciate this one for what it is. Romero's Dawn of the Dead set the standards for zombie fiction and codified a lot of the tropes about zombies. His earlier film Night of the Living Dead was the first in the genre as we know it today, but it was Dawn of the Dead that built the foundations of the genre as a whole. If you don't like horror films, then maybe this isn't your cup of tea and I can get that. But there's no denying that this is a whole lot better than the god-awful Zack Snyder remake from 2004. I'd wager so, considering a lot of the human villains in Walking Dead were inspired by the human villains in Romero's films like the bikers or Captain Rhodes in Day of the Dead.
