Those soldiers would have had their share of battle. They were wounded so they could not fight had they had the ammunition. By that time they were hungry as well. Not so the Germans. And they had been ordered to surrender. Had they fought, the Germans would have been compelled to not honor the surrender.
The British Army of which the Paras were part of did not use a bazooka in World War II. What they used was named a PIAT. Short for "Propeller, Infantry Anti Tank." Do not remember the range, but what it threw was a bottled explosive but was spring loaded.
