What do you think was the most wasted, your money or your time?
My post was a bit tongue-in-cheek. Well, Asian males are usually stereotyped as "nerdy" and being the the least successful on the dating market. So I guess that it could be considered "woke" to have an Asian on the show who is the opposite of that.
I would say that having an Asian for the Chad alpha bully is moderately woke.
Basically, the difference between NC-17 (formerly X) and R is that the former is an excuse to censor movies. The MPAA might get away with saying that they are not a censorship group as you can always choose to accept an NC-17. But here is the thing, accepting the NC-17 rating might effectively get the movie banned. Especially when one is an independent filmmaker who needs to advertise their movie. The MPAA have been accused of rating independent movies more unfairly with NC-17. You can see more in depth about that in the documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated (2006).

This man who oversaw the MPAA ratings board said that he didn't want The Exorcist to be given an X because he did not want to "ban" the film.

By some miracle, mostly thanks to Dr. Aaron Stern, the man who oversaw the ratings board at the time, the film was rated R after its initial submission. Friedkin, Warner Bros. and everyone else involved were floored, the director says.
Stern personally called to share the news. “He says, ‘Mr. Friedkin, I’ve just seen The Exorcist, and I think it’s a great film. I’m going to give it an R … I’m not going to ask you to cut a frame.’ “
An X rating, as far as Friedkin was concerned, might as well have been a total ban, and apparently Stern agreed, he says.
“I think this movie should be widely seen … I don’t think the film should be banned,” Stern said, according to Friedkin.

She tells Wyatt (I think) that he needs to get his head straight with something because it is affecting his sex life. That heavily implies they were having sex, although not shown on-screen.
Because the studios wiłl for the most part not agree to release a movie with an NC-17 rating, Showgirls being an exception. Why is that? They are not allowed to show it in many theatres and not allowed to advertise it with that rating. The same goes for video games. When Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was hacked with the Hot Coffee mod and the game was upped to an AO (Adults Only) rating, the stores pulled the game from the shelves. There is too much stigma in 18+ ratings in the US because they are thought of as pornographic.
Yes. His mother is.

It also doesn't help that the French director of this, was a complete hack and didn't give a single fuck about this franchise or it's lore!

A hack, maybe, but he's Swiss. 😬
It's never said explicitly and left with ambiguity to the viewer, I suppose. The twist in my interpretation is that the soldier and his daughter who is living with her father are revealed at the end to have a romantic relationship when they take the boy and adopt him as their own. The two were out for him all along. What's really sick and creepy in the story is the incest angle.
Usually, they mean Gen Y (millennials) and Gen Z when then say that. This show was pretty much written for millennials, and maybe the younger Gen X.
Howard treating women like objects and his Indian jokes to Raj, perhaps?
Maybe the moment where all the women told Penny that her short hair was ugly was anti-woke. Women, and especially attractive women, should be forbidden to have short hair.
The last computer for me that came with a floppy drive was in 2002. It had a recovery disc on floppy which I still have in my possession. A friend of mine built a computer in 2008 and told me that he got a floppy drive included. I was like WTH, why? 🤣
In 2000, I was recording music to cassettes. CD burners were a luxury item and you were the cool kid when you had connections that provided you with mix tapes on CD-R. CD and DVD burners now are as much of a relic as 3.5" floppy drives, lol.
For whatever it's worth, this is currently ranked 1,500 in popularity on IMDb while National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation ranks about 2,200. The latter is somewhat higher rated, though (7.3/10 versus 7.5/10). The popularity might also fluctuate seasonally. 😉
"Yo! Check this out. This is insanely great. It's got a 28.8 bps modem."

I remember an episode of the Computer Chronicles where a man was about to give up on the internet because it was so slow. As such, he was offered to become a beta tester of cable modems. 😜

It is silly to complain about this. It's just a click and nowhere near as much of a headache as Google's CAPTCHA can be, lol.
These are usually triggered when they detect traffic from one IP coming in all directions. In other words, when using a VPN or Tor. However, I see that I'm getting this when I'm not using a VPN as well.
You guys are so spoiled. Did none of you live through the days of 28.8K dial-up modems?

They seem to have implemented an anti-bot control now (for people using VPNs at least). Let's see if the situation improves from here on.
