I only hear the accent. I watch a lot of UK costume drama (have done so weekly since the early 1980s) and I don’t think they sound any different than the RP accents in other series. 🤷🏻♀️

Most of the characters in Bridgerton are from titled families. The program makes it clear in multiple ways that they are members of “The Ton” which is the group of people in the very highest pinnacle of society. They’re supposed to speak that way. Received Pronunciation is an indicator that someone is from that social class, of which the sons were educated at Oxford or Cambridge.

I love that it was Penny Benjamin! Imo casting a younger hot actress would have been such a different story. This story, with this Maverick, had so much more depth than I can imagine a story with Maverick cruising young hot women. 🤷🏻♀️
