I guess real-time updates alone is a valid reason for me to finally get a twitter account lol Thanks, Texas. Hopefully it'll be back up soon. I don't know if this was an error on the filmmaker's part, but if you look closely in the chopper at the end you can see a head (looks like Poncho's @ 1:42:14). I'm sure the filmmaker's eventual intention was to kill him off, but I've always wondered if they originally intended for him to survive, or maybe he did survive since the same type of energy blast that hit Poncho simply injured Dutch. You said it! Cliffhangers. Its one thing going into a movie when its being advertised as pt 1 of 3, or being a prequel, etc., but when its advertised as a stand-alone only to have the ending be a cliffhanger... its just very insulting to the audience. Also, endings that arent endings, as in the conflict still exists and the filmmakers just needed an ending (almost all zombie movies, for example). Part of seeing a movie is looking forward to how the films antogonist(s) and/or conflict will be resolved and/or defeated. Im all for a gloomy ending, but a gloomy ending deserves to be book-ended just the same as a happy ending. Michael Wincott in "The Crow". This was decent and entertaining. A modern twist to an old tale. But if one were to compare this to say, Excalibur, this film wouldn't hold a candle to it. But I will admit, I enjoy watching this over and over. The imagery, the score, cinematography, all are well done. I usually don't like Jude Law, but I don't mind watching him in this. I don't care for the lead, but the other actors more than make up for it, especially Eric Bana. Thanks for the correction, PM! I liked it, mainly because I could relate to the main character with almost everything he went through (except the dancing bit). When they mentioned K-pins at the dinner table I almost fell over laughing. I appreciated the way the film handled and balanced the character development with the storylines. Most movies favor one over the other, but I think the balance of this movie was perfect. 1. Saying "axe" instead of "ask". 2. The word "hella". 3. Loud chewing 4. Teeth-on-teeth action when eating (where you can hear the person's teeth). As much as a fan I am of Clayne Crawford, I agree. Although I did stop watching the show after the first couple episodes of season 3, I still agree with you. Clayne, IMO, left big shoes to fill. Sean's character (not the actor), just didnt do it for me. If they had cast SWS as Riggs in the first place (or even if they had recasted him as Riggs), the show would have fared better, IMO. I may give the show another chance, but after learning that Damon was a diva, its kind of hard to look past that. Loved, loved the first 2 seasons, btw. With many successful films on their track record (and the acquisition of Fox properties), I think they could afford a few lemons here and there. THIS will definitely make money, and thats all the studios care about, really. Them getting "WOKE and BROKE" is just wishful thinking, but I understand where youre coming from. Although I appreciate and love (LOVE) most of the X-Men films, I'm happy theyll be joining the MCU in the future. I do feel that the last 3 films (First Class, Days/Future Past, Apocalypse) started making up for the heretic mistreatment of major characters (mainly Cyclops) , but it is a little too late. Fox had close to 20 years to do right by the characters, but they dropped the ball and choked, overall. I'm excited to see how Disney will treat them in the future. If they could handle as many main characters as they did in Infinity War (which is the only thing that film did right), then handling the X-Men characters shouldn't be a problem. The first parts with little Conan were pretty neat. A nice introduction to his childhood and foundation for his code of honor, or lack of. Jason Momoa (sp?) was a good Conan, of course Ive never watched any of the originals. He has pretty good camera presence and his hulking frame is reminiscent of the 80s action stars. Also, I personally thought that Steven Lang stole the show. As over the top his performance was, I thought he needed more screen time. His last scene didnt do him justice, imo. Anyways, yeah, the kid was amazing in the first act. Yeah, this movie doesn't deserve all the hate it received. It had tons of practical effects and sets, especially this being a science-fiction movie set on Mars. I especially love the "Death Match" at the end between The Sarge and Reaper. The gunplay felt authentic as well, sans the chaingun lol Thank you very much for the recommendations! I appreciate the thought out and thorough response. I'm going to jot these down in my travel journal :) Thanks again! I'm four episodes in, and I don't think it that bad. I understand why some wouldn't, though. I do like the actor that plays Landry. Reminds me of Scott Adkins. The show I watched before this was the first four seasons of Vikings. Great show, but none of the characters were likable. Saw it as being objective though the lens history/a little fiction. I guess I enjoy this show because I'm a history person. Like Vikings, this show has prompted me to further look into the history of the Knight Templars, which I find pretty fascination. I wasnt aware there was an original! I will definitely look that up. I watched the remake of Conan just the other day, and just thought it was mediocre. Solomon Kane is far, far better. I've never watched GoT, but being that I've been binge watching fantasy, sword/sorcery movies, I'll have to check it out. Would you be so kind recommend any others similar to this, whynotwriteme? I recently purchased the LOTR trilogy (I know, i know...im years behind), and am very impressed so far. I'm halfway through the Two Towers. Also thinking about checking out Legend, with Tom Cruise. Just finished watching this for the first time. This movie surprised me. Went into this thinking it was going to be a generic b-movie, but I was wrong. Really enjoyed it. Soloman's character arc along with Purefoy's acting chops made the movie. Great music and cinematography. Fight choreography was tight as well. Was never a fan of Purefoy, but this one put him on my radar. LOL!!! Oh, Sparky
