Khan would have tossed Picard out the nearest airlock, made Troi his whore, and had Riker calling him "daddy" within five minutes. Well, he obviously felt he should have after the fact. I think he was, at that point, supposed to be a little off his game - a little slow. He was getting old, had been behind a desk. One arc in this movie is the rebirth of Captain Kirk. You have to remember that the galaxy of Star Trek was metaphorically the world of the 18th century. The Ceti Alpha system was far from anything, far from the beaten path. Did the English navy go check up on the welfare of the mutineers on Pitcairn Island? (I actually don't know, but it seems unlikely). I think he figured it out during the course of the movie. "predominate"?? As Jimmy Doohan once said at my college, Curtis did her best, but Alley was much better cast. Oz damn near killed my father due to his lack of post-operative care or interest. It took years to recover, and he was never the same after that. I think she got shafted. I think she was right. You, on the other hand, are an anti-Semitic asshole. It began with a denial of basic rights and a confiscation of the ability to defend oneself. From there it escalated to attacks by the citizenry, just as attacks against Jews have grossly escalated in the U.S. today. After that came forced relocation. It was a process. It did not begin as mass murder. But, of course, you don't know anything about that. No! We have our own facts!! Our own truth! You keep your historical accuracy to yourself! What makes her awful? Still haven't seen anything, other than her decrying the way people are treating each other. A little secret: that makes her a GOOD person. How do you know? You weren't there. My father was. He was detained by the nazis. And this all is VERY much how it started in the '30s. The woman said nothing wrong, and certainly nothing ant-semitic. This is nonsense. She didn't cross "the Jews" - at least not me. She said nothing offensive, and I'm the son of a holocaust survivor. If you really think what's going on isn't reminiscent of the 1930s, you're not paying attention. Shame is irrelevant - some people are just wired weird. He's right about having no control over what arouses us. However, we have total control about whether we ACT on those impulses. Anyone can be attracted to someone inappropriate. Anyone who acts on it is a monster. Why? When the age of majority is 18, and most people are having sex much younger, surely somebody is being aroused. Besides, the age of majority is much less than 18 in many places, including in the U.S. Actually weren't the thugees of Temple of Doom featured in Gunga Din? You seem to have the right author but the wrong story. Oh grow up. You must have missed Tenet. I was a bit disappointed when they found it. There was something romantic about it being undiscovered. Are you insane? The film had a brilliant climax. "Couldn't they have had a bit of closure between Bannion and Lagana?" You don't seem to understand what a climax is. You want denouement.
