Good point. It also doesn't mean that the acting is bad. If it touched a nerve, it's probably really good acting.
The way the family was discovered by the former maid was my only critique of this film. I felt like there could have been a better way. Although, there was still a heavy comedic tone to the film at that point, so I sort of forgave it, in the light of slapstick comedy. To say the entire film falls apart in the second half is also quite comedic.
It's the context of the moment. The wife had made a comment, earlier in the film, about how you needed to get children that have had a seizure to the hospital within 15 minutes. Despite this being what the family believed, Mr. Park still took the time to put on a show for the remaining party guests by grabbing his nose as he went for the keys; combined with the fact that he was running down the father about his smell, earlier in the film, while the father was trapped under the table with his children, hearing everything. That shame combined with Mr. Park's arrogance in, what is supposed to be, a life or death situation was enough to make the father snap.
Oh, another fucking moron on MovieChat. How boring.
I would say it's average, bordering on below average. That said, I thought the acting, by everyone, was the only redeeming factor. I gave it a 5/10.
A sad reality - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZI_pi16xmY
I hate to sort of agree, but I absolutely hated the left-leaning political crap this last season. I knew it was a bad sign when we saw Mindy Kaling a while back.
Pat and the offense was just too good. Took Henry out of the game. Who would've thought Andy would flip the script and make the Chiefs the dominate run team? That bomb to Watkins was the dagger, though.
They have. That really makes me feel like their luck might come to an end here, but they might make it to the big one before they have their slip up.
Titans 27 Chiefs 24 - Going out on a limb with the upset special. Chiefs are statistically the worst of all teams in this years playoffs, against the run. Can Henry and the O-line keep Pat off the field, or can the Chiefs D shut down the best running back in the biz?
49ers 31 Packers 21 - I feel like we'll get the usual from Jimmy & Kittle and Rogers & Jones, but the difference might show up in coaching. Kyle has that extra year and it may be the difference. The future looks good though, Allaby.
Yeah, probably. Though, he seems like the kind of guy that might not have even wanted to be a huge name, just content with getting paid anything to do what he loved. He's getting on up there now. I really wish I could see him live before it's too late.
That's actually one of his that I'm less familiar with, so it was nice to give it a listen.
This one's probably my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXqWdF0L4F4
That's unreal. Earlier I was thinking about posting something on Prine. And now here you are with the first ever post. When I was young, my dad told me about "Sam Stone", "Angel From Montgomery" & "The Accident (Things Could Be Worse)", as those are his favorites. Later, I ended up becoming a much bigger fan of Prine than he ever was.
Yeah, I wasn't crazy about 1917 (I gave a 7/10), but I definitely enjoyed it more than Dunkirk.
Yeah, I saw it last night, and I agree. I'd say it's worth one viewing, but it doesn't feel like it has that "rewatchability", for me, like other films of the genre.
Yeah, I believe it was the intention. I'd also add a 4th - when he falls and the same cut, dead Germanified hand sinks deep into the muck. Of course, that's after Blake's demise, but it made me think we would see a flash forward of him receiving a medal (because of the conversation he and Blake had about them), and only having one hand.
What made you change your mind? https://moviechat.org/tt8579674/1917/5e2365758a995969f8f2aa72/the-plot-is-a-bit-thin-it-should-not-win-Best-Picture

Were you just making a prediction on which you thought would win? If so, I'd really like to know your personal choice.
I had never heard that, but just assumed it. Most successful movie stars don't, until they aren't big movie names anymore.
I finally saw it yesterday. I enjoyed it, but it didn't surpass Parasite, for my tastes. There were just so many "who would do that?" moments, but I kept reminding myself that these guys were young and inexperienced. It was very successful in making me feel for the characters, though, particularly <spoiler>when the friend dies. How he sat with him and talked him through it. Also, when he told his brother, at the end. I thought that guy's acting was great, albeit brief.</spoiler> I'd give it a solid 7/10.
Very well said. That's often how I see it - in myself, many people of the left could have one of their biggest allies, if they just didn't adamantly insist on me being their enemy.
