It's deliberate and it's going to happen with increasing frequency. We're going to have more and more films and TV shows with non-white actors in lead roles, playing white historical figures or characters from historical literature that would naturally have been white.
They call it 'colour blind' casting but it's the opposite. Meet it with anything other than faux naivety or fawning enthusiasm and you'll be branded racist.

One thing I find interesting is not only that there were barely any human figures, but that since the paintings spanned thousands of years, the trend apparently continued for thousands of years. So it's not like the reason is just that those were the norms of one tribe/culture.

I also noticed that, of the 69 reviews, there are none rated 1, 2, 3, or 5 and only one rated 4 and 6. The other 67 are 7+ (lots of which have more unhelpful than helpful votes).
