I've never heard of Prager U. I'm stating facts. MLK was a Republican. Republicans were the ones who pushed for the Civil Rights Act, first in the '50s, when the Democrats blocked it, then again in the '60s when Republicans finally got it passed. Democrats have been opposed to equal rights from the get go. They fought a Civil War to preserve slavery. The created the Ku Klux Klan to oppress minorities. They fought against the Civil Rights Act. You can pretend this isn't the case, but it's historical fact. Why does it bother you? You've been brainwashed by the media. Obviously fake news. Martin Luther King Jr. was a staunch Republican, and fought for Civil Rights, a movement supported by the Republicans and opposed by Democrats. There's zero chance Trump is going to rename streets named after a hero to the right like King. Denial of what? Find me evidence that Trump said white supremacists are very fine people. What can you say? The man has a type. It feels refreshing to have a real president again. He literally said out loud, on the microphone, "my heart goes out to you." He then put his hand over his heart, and made a throwing gesture with that hand. Politicians hold out their arm in that pose all the time. You can find videos of AOC doing, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, and just about everyone else. Trying to pretend that there was any intention of Nazism in Musk's gesture is asinine and disingenuous. You're pretending something is what it isn't because you want it to be true. Trump never said that, and it can be proved. You're either uninformed our purposely lying, there's no third option. https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1881800472081891815 I have no idea how that relates to what I wrote. Are you also pretending Musk gave a Nazi salute? Did Trump say white supremacists were "very fine people?" I guess we're in for another 4 years of blatant lies from the left in an attempt to paint Trump and his allies as something they aren't. Musk put his had over his heart and said "my heart goes out to you," and mimed throwing his heart to the crowd. Immediately the fake news outlets ran an audio-free, edited clip and pretended they thought it was a Nazi salute. How about trying honesty this time around? Or even bipartisanship? I'm on social media, specifically film-related social media, regularly, and have seen no attacks on Wicked from the far right, or anyone else. I'm not saying it isn't out there on the fringes somewhere. You can find just about anything if you look hard enough. I feel like the studio left a lot of money on the table by sending Wicked to streaming after only 39 days in theaters. In the past they used to wait 90 days to do that, and lately even 60 days is considered a quick turnaround, so for a film that was doing the numbers Wicked was doing, it seemed like a mistake. The fact that it has still eked out another $50 million since it hit streaming platform reinforces this belief. What is your question? Who are the people you think need to reconcile something? A film version of one of the most successful musicals of all time did decent box office numbers. One might expect this film to top a billion at the box office, but $700 million is still a good haul. Is it because the film is pushing a woke agenda that it underperformed? Maybe. Or maybe that's just the state of theaters in 2024. Mostly it seems you've constructed a straw man to berate. I don't pick up on any evidence that he's offended so much as he's surprised that such overt racism is considered okay by nearly half the nation. He stays chill throughout, so I don't know where you get that he's offended or upset. He makes a valid point, too. Imagine this skit performed by Obama and Biden during their presidential run. Biden calls out to Barack who shuffles in with a "yassir?" before being presented with a "black taco" plate featuring fried chicken and watermelon. Perhaps Biden can pat him on the head and say "good boy" while he slurps it down? That would okay, right? He makes another valid point that mayonnaise isn't even something that white people enjoy any more than any other group. Is it because mayo is white that racists have created that stereotype? And what about the lack of spices? Another lazy, untrue stereotype. The bottom line is that racism is wrong, and something we should not tolerate. It's been a part of the Democratic party for centuries, from slavery to the KKK to segregation to the battle to block the Civil Rights Act, right up to the present day, and it's time to end it. They won't do it, but imagine if they could keep it under wraps, and on opening night you see Red Hulk fire Cap's shield back at him, and suddenly a giant green hand reaches out and stops it in mid-air. The theater would go bonkers. Green Hell isn't a bad film. I have it on DVD, and it's available on Amazon. I've never seen Scream and Scream Again, though I remember it popping up in monster magazines I read as a kid. No, but thank you! It's because it's an unrealistic fantasy that it is such a common theme in Hollywood. And, it's men as much as women indulging in the fantasy.
