Interesting. I'm a pro-choice atheist who doesn't like Trump much at all, yet somehow I'm brainwashed and radicalized. Or, I'm what you fringe folks can't understand: a free thinking moderate who pays attention to facts, and doesn't buy into either party's line. I've seen no evidence whatsoever that Trump attempted any sort of coup or insurrection. That's all made up to radicalize folks like you. Read what he actually said and did that day, and you won't find anything supporting your statements. It's just like Russian collusion, white supremacists being fine people, injecting bleach, and the rest of the fabricated stories created to discredit him. As hard as it may be for you to fathom, there are many like me. I can dislike Trump while remaining honest about him, and will reluctantly vote for him to keep the clearly worse alternative out of office. Depends how silent we're talking. Harris is going to get at least 2 million votes from dead people, the most silent group of all, as well as illegals, and people who moved and had ballots sent to an old address. Will it be enough to tilt the election? Who's to say? I'm a middle-of-the-road, left-leaning on some issues, right on others, voter who is only casually interested in politics. For you to have read something as moderate and non-radical as what I wrote and consider it radicalized tells me that you are a far-fringe activist. If Trump loses, and there is evidence that the election was not run fairly, we'll probably see something like 2020, when Trump lost an election that was clearly unfair. People complained, a small number peacefully protested at the Capitol for a few hours, along with an army of FBI plants and Antifa member trying to rile up trouble. When 8pm curfew came, they all quietly went home. Since then, they've let it be known that the think the election was unfair, but they've not rioted or done anything other than try to rally support for the 2024 election. At the moment, the nation's support for Trump seems overwhelming, and it's hard to envision him losing. However, that was the case in 2020, too. It seems impossible to imagine a scenario where Harris wins a fair election. Adding to that, things like battleground states announcing they might need as many as 10 days to count votes, while much larger states like California and Texas can do so in a matter of hours, is cause for concern. So do I think any of the MAGAs will automatically decry a loss by Trump as the result of cheating? Of course some will. Most, I believe, will base their reaction on the circumstances. Children with a July or August birthday usually start kindergarten just after their 6th birthday, so it makes sense that someone born 8-2-84 would be in the class of '03. Both of my sons are born in early August, so I know this to be the case. In their two grades combined there is only one student with a July or August birthday that started just after turning 5. All the others waited and started just after turning 6, as Vance seems to have done. He was 18 at graduation, just like most high school graduates. You guys really like Alien! The trailer is impressive, and everything I've heard about the film to date suggests that it will be worth seeing. I'm fortunate to have an IMAX near me, as well as a couple theaters equipped to project a 70mm print. If you believe that, then you don't understand the rules of English grammar. Perhaps the "woosh" applies to you? The O.P. stated one thing grammatically with his title and opening sentence, but implied the opposite in his second sentence. I pointed that out. I've never really given it too much thought, or talked to anyone else about it. What are some of the other interpretations you've heard? I think the hotel itself is the monster. It's possessed by something evil, much like the car is in Christine. I agree it's a gray area, but I kept my choices pretty broad, because of the way the linked article approached it, so I included films where the monster is a supernatural force, ghost, or witch, or even just an evil person. If Friday the 13th counts as a monster movie, I think so too does Midsommar. Brand Nubian endorsing Trump. Didn't have that on my 2024 bingo card. I loved the original three Wallace and Gromit shorts. The 2nd and 3rd are a lot better than the first, but all three are exceptional. I had the good fortune to discover them as part of an animation festival when A Close Shave was still very new. I don't think nearly anyone in the audience had heard of it, and the capacity crowd of about 700 people went bananas. I still remember the audience cheering like it was a football game when Gromit converted his sidecar into an airplane. To this day, that's one of my favorite moments in a theater, ever. I should definitely rewatch these. The article was about 50, ranked, so I ranked 50. You're free to share 10, or any number, or even just praise or ridicule my choices. I used to drive an older Chrysler, and while driving it around the U.S. I heard rumors of a guy known only as Mopar Mel, in the small Minnesota town of Fertile. He specialized in parts and restoration of old Chrysler, Plymouth, Imperial, and DeSoto cars. I needed some stuff for my car, so I sought him out. He had acres-- literally acres-- of rows of old Mopar cars, many stacked atop others. He must have had 1,000 or more cars lined up out there. He rode a tractor out and fished the parts I needed out of some old cars. While there, I saw the car he was working on: a red, 1958 Plymouth Fury. Christine. He said at least once or twice a year someone would hire him to rebuild and restore a '58 Fury so they could own a Christine. It looked pretty sweet tbh, and now that I'm writing this I kind of want to track down Mel and get a Christine of my own. Though he was charging $20k to build one back in '06, so I don't know what it will cost now. Probably more than I can afford. He has some issues. Ever since I added him to my ignore list I no longer see Pwinty pop up all day in my feed. I imagine he's still at it over there, and apparently here, too? Maybe it was, but it feels like there was a distinct shift. The recent 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris is an example of this. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think 60 Minutes, or any news source of that caliber, has ever edited an interview that way. In the past they may have cleaned up a line or two, or maybe edited out a statement, but they removed her nonsensical answer, and cut and pasted in an entirely different statement from a different portion of the interview to make it seem like she gave a coherent answer. That seems like a whole new level of deceit that I never saw once before 2016, but has now become the norm. It was so painfully obvious during the campaign leading up to the 2020 election that he was significantly impaired, and yet no one in the media or the government would call him out on it. More than anything else, I think that is what caused the lack of trust in the establishment that we have today. We always knew that the media had a left-leaning slant, but we at least trusted them to be honest, if biased. Now it's clear to (nearly) everyone that they are far from honest, and that's only going to lead to greater division and confusion.
