This is tough, considering conflict is what drives most narrative, but one that came to mind is Days of Heaven, not totally conflictless, but it does make you yearn to be in that beautiful landscape.
This one has been around forever but it still holds true: never saying goodbye at the end of a phone conversation. It basically never happens, not even a "see you later" or the very common "alright." Every time a phone conversation happens in a movie, I suddenly think, oh this is a movie, most jarring thing ever and the characters are never confused, hate it
Update: I have hung out with him a couple times in the month we've been apart, seems like we might transition to friends okay, but only time will tell.
Not really like Taps at all. Any description you could possibly have read surely would not do it justice, especially if it sounded like Taps
I went to both, they were fun. At a certain point you get old enough to realize the racket that the games are, that the pizza isn't that great, and that the ball pit is gross. There is so much human waste in there. But for a joyously oblivious time I loved that stuff.
Complete isolation seems appealing, but it's not good for most people's brains. Believe me I wish I could escape the people who irk me the most, but a better solution is making serious strides toward adding positive relationships, then the negative stuff fades away. It takes a long time, and it takes serious effort, but you can't run from your own shadow. If the reasons to run are your personal relationships, understand that you have a say in how those relationships are or are not. If you run and don't address it, you form the same toxic relationships elsewhere. If all you ever see is birds and deer, your own negativity will fester and you'll never be confronted with things in yourself you may need to make changes with. We need people even if we hate people, and trying to acknowledge issues within yourself is necessary for personal growth
You're welcome
I love how I can't stand him, I have seen and enjoyed Hard to Kill many times, I'll check out your suggestions
Many times, and I've done it a few times, but you always wind up either back where you started or dealing with the same issues in a new place
It might be hard to find info about him, but good luck
Yeah most don't know much about him, one of those rare gem actors (and sport game players) very few people have heard of. He hasn't gotten a lot of media coverage
The point is that non white people have less opportunities, thus make less movies, thus there are far more white people made movies to win razzies. It's a cultural and institutional problem, so I am with you I think the razzies are indeed too white, but less people care about the razzies in general, so the most popular awards shows are the example setters who get the bulk of the criticism
Discussion begins here, speak your truth man
Sounds like you just did
Yep sports game alright, you should get out more juror 8
So it's aguable he's still a prisoner of his own conscience, but he seems more like a psychopath without one. But man he sure could play that sport game huh
And even though he didn't serve time in prison for it, there's that double murder he committed
Um in Prison for armed robbery and kidnapping (that part pretty trumped up) for 9 years
Because there has historically been underreprentation of all groups of people besides straight white men. Since when is equality bad? Looking for things wrong, or finding them and not keeping your mouth shut?
I am very appreciative that the old posts are there, especially when there's little to nothing else for older movies. Clog up the boards? Are we hurting for space? If you want more recent discussion of an older movie, you could, you know, make a new post
