The price of tickets for movies is expensive these days, but the prices for concessions are even more ludicrous, especially since a lot of what one get to eat at most movie theatres tastes very chemical laden and artificial, to boot. I have a large AMC Cineplex about five minutes away from where I live, it has really comfortable seats and big screens, and I've gone there afew times and seen some wonderful movies there.
I've even made special road trips to the opposite end of the state that I reside in, and even to neighboring states to see my all time favorite film, West Side Story, and it's all been worth it, also.
If more movie theatres, even the few independent repertory theatres left here in the United States, followed the idea that Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas has and implemented a "zero tolerance" policy on cell-phone texting and talking during the movies, a lot more people would come back to the movie theatres, I'm sure.
The idea of a bunch of women and girls being "packed" is a little scary to me. The Lizzies were tough gals, which is something to be proud of, but they sort of abused their power with their guns.
It's possible that Swan and Mercy were speculating and hoping that something that they liked better would come along, but it never did.
Swan and the rest of the Warriors rightly spotted Mercy for what she really was; a Prostitute. I also think, however, that Swan did like her, love her, and wanted to help her lead a more normal life, instead of being a prostitute.
I liked the Warriors. They seemed the most sympathetic as people, plus they weren't into fighting offensively, only defensively, as necessary.
Assault is assault, no matter what, and it's a serious crime.
I don't know. I think that Luther seemed vicious and aggressive enough so that he was quite capable of acting alone, and being a leader, when he shot Cyrus.
I don't think that Luther was talking to any of the Lizzies. It's probably a girlfriend of Luther's that Luther's talking to.
How did Mercy end up getting the corsage, then?
I had the feeling that the kids who were going home from the prom felt that they were the most vulnerable, and feared that one or more of the The Warriors would attack them.
Ajax's continual stupidity.
My list of Best New York Films:
West Side Story
Klute
Saturday Night Fever
The Warriors
Taxi Driver
The Taking of Pelham One Two Three
Midnight Cowboy
French Connection
Serpico
King of the Gypsies
"Serpico" was really good. So is the book on which "Serpico" is based.
I recently saw "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three", also. It was incredible!
West Side Story is a musical, plus I think that the Jets did seem tough enough.
I agree that the Warriors showed that they were tougher, because they stood up to the Orphans, and all the other gangs who attacked them while they were on their way back to their home turf.
Does the alphabetical order refer to the first letter of a member's first or last name? Just curious.
Okay. Thank you, MinaVladimir. What should I do at this point? Did I omit anything that I should've provided in terms of information? How do I start/enter into the ATM forum? How do the members get A, B or C, etc.? Just curious, because I'm not sure what's taking place next. Thanks again for your time and attention on this matter.
If I have nobody to go with, I go solo to the movies. I figure..why deprive myself of a movie that I wish to see just because I don't have anybody to go with? Life's too short.
Eh...to each their own, but seeing a movie on a great big, wide screen, in a real movie theatre, with the lights down low, with a whole bunch of other people, whether I know them or not is a real treat for me. Seeing a movie on DVD and or an elaborate home theatre system just isn't my cup of tea, because, regardless of what other people say, the experience is never, ever the same as seeing it on a great big, wide movie theatre screen, as movies are really meant to be viewed.
