John Hillcoat is attempting right now. Or has he failed in the past? Surprised more horror westerns haven’t been made since. Fingers crossed that Blood Meridian gets made soon. Mine too, like a grittier version of the Beekeeper. Could have made the movie about 20 minutes longer with him having a couple more scenes. I agree with the atmosphere, cinematography, and scenery being great. Exactly what a director making a thriller should strive for. I wonder if he’s seen Nosferatu, Dune 2, Challengers, Strange Darling or The Substance. I really enjoyed the action/violence. Denzel’s performance was very entertaining as well. It wasn’t emotionally engaging like the first one but I didn’t care. 8 out of 10 for me. Come on man just think about all the good long westerns out there with nothing important to say like The Wild Bunch The Good The Bad and the Ugly Once Upon a Time in the West Rio Bravo Dances With Wolves Django Unchained There Will Be Blood The Assassination of Jesse James Narc Dirty Harry The French Connection 12 Angry Men Near Dark 127 Hours Trainspotting Brick Taxi Driver Blood Simple Go Fargo The Crow Bonnie and Clyde Snatch Dr Strangelove Hopefully it’ll be as good or better. You don’t know how big her role will be tho. Probably about 15 minutes in a 2hr 45-3hr movie. I trust this director to make a good and somewhat original exorcist movie. Now called The Horror Game, sounds like a really cool idea for a movie and I’m assuming it’ll come out next fall. As far as Aster goes I didn’t like Hereditary at all and thought Beau is Afraid was pretty good but too bizarre/disturbing for me to ever watch again. Haven’t seen Midsommar yet. But hopefully his 4th movie will be strong. I like Saltburn so I’m excited for this and could be Robbie’s best performance yet, maybe even an Oscar nominated one. I don’t think two big name actors qualifies as an “all star cast” but Hathaway and Mcgregor are two actors I like a bit and being about dinosaurs intrigues me quite a bit. Just heard about this and I’m intrigued. Wasn’t a big fan of this directors first two movies but maybe this will win me over. Hoping it’s better than Nope which I found boring, thought Get Out was pretty good and thought Us was awesome, who knows maybe he’ll deliver something unexpected and maybe even his best movie yet. I guess something I’m hoping for would be a focus on visuals/atmosphere and a good story where you care about the characters instead of focusing on just the scares. Sounds great to me! Couldn’t be more excited for this! If it can measure up to his last two movies he’ll easily be a top 3 director making movies today.
