i don't get how this movie can even be seen as "okay" which appears to be the general consensus. i thought the zombie alien monkeys and the CGI sharks in the colleseum were enough to put this on most worst-of lists.

Because people enjoy different things. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean that others didn't find it entertaining. It's not that hard to grasp.

It is very difficult to grasp people watching those alien baboons and going "yeah, this is pretty good."

If I care about the story and what is happening plot wise….the cgi quality of some apes is mostly irrelevant to me.

The opening scene of the naval attack was outstanding on the big screen.

The rest of the film? Not so much.

I didn't care for the writing at all. But it wasn't a total wash. Okay to watch but doesn't come close to the first one in my opinion.

Yeah, when I watched this I was like "holy crap, this movie is awesome". Had no idea what the haters were complaining about. Then the rest of the movie happened. But the first 20 minutes were killer.

I really enjoyed the action/violence. Denzel’s performance was very entertaining as well. It wasn’t emotionally engaging like the first one but I didn’t care. 8 out of 10 for me.
