maybe because nobody really bats an eye at other mixed relationships.. not so long ago it was against the law for white and blacks to marry. if you portray it more, it becomes more normal and less taboo and hopefully people will start to see it as being normal. Look at England.. Lots of black/white couples - normal over there. same thing as how lots of shows have gay/lesbian couples now. there is nothing wrong with it. Even today alot of people in mixed relationships still get the side eye and shit talked about them. It shouldn't matter.
