Perhaps he meant "inflaming" as an adjective, whereas "flaming" is pretty much always a verb.
Yes. We value free speech as a society, but the 1st Amendment protects you only from government censorship, and event that is not without limits.
Other than that, you have a right free speech, but not free speech without consequences. Witness Bill Maher's recent problems.
Maybe there's a happy middle ground...
