I have not seen this in some time but I thought it was hilarious around it's release. I'd give it a 5.5-6, so the current rank it has is about right. $$$$ Watching a movie on standard cable channels is robbing yourself of the experience. Why they made those cuts is anyone's guess. Yeah she was funny in Sister Sister. Very sassy. Getting rid of samoanjoes would be no pun Wow that does sound bad You have started the Bill Duke appreciation thread. Now he can have some fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGitN3vC0xE IT'S MORPHIN' TIME! It would likely find it's place today. It has a strange history, but it basically started years before as a show in Japan called Super Sentai and footage was reused outside Japan and added the drama elements making it MMPR. There is more to the history but that's just a tid bit. Anyway there is a dedicated forum similar to this one that has over 100k members regularly talking about Power rangers and their various incarnations. If it's fandom has survived this long, I think it would if were fresh today. I think they went to mimic the success of the past few games as a direction with this feature. The games just as you say have elements of dark or perhaps seriousness but in the next scene you have Johnny Cage cracking jokes. This may be for the best though because these are the complaints I hear with some movies more present. Example Batman - people complain it's TOO dark and brooding, and the mid-90's features were TOO cheesy. It may be hard to find that balance. If they do come out with rebooted feature I would expect it to be a mixture dark, cheesy, funny, serious ridiculousness. It's hard not to with such a random assortment of fighters and other creatures. I'm not sure it's ever really flat out explained in the mythos but he gains them as a result of giving himself to Quan Chi's influence/netherealm. This is similar to to Bi-Han/Noob Saibot who gets new abilities post death and the result of giving in to Quan Chi's influence. When this movie came out the characters were hardly fleshed out at all. It was based on the original 10 characters so characters like Reptile and Kitana were kinda like wtf characters for some people. There is huge backstory which is explored in the games and comic books but to answer some questions. Kitana is from a realm called Edenia where you retain your youth for long periods of time. The 10k years might be exaggerated but they aren't average humans. She represents outworld as an assassin and works under Shang Tsung. It goes on and on from there, if this was to become a series any hope of that was squandered with the sequel. You're right though. They definitely could've cut some things. Sonya, Liu and Johnny are enough to focus on. Um the first one? He uses it a bunch. He uses it a lot in part 6 too iirc Friday the 13th I wasn't really feeling it either, but the series is successful as they're establishing Wick as an unstoppable killing machine Nailed it ⭐️ Clue: Trix Agreed. Anything under 60% is "Rotten" which is very misleading. I take RT with a grain of salt. I often pair it up with Critic vs. User reviews, but my go to is Imdb overall. What about Roundhouse? https://youtu.be/50Q3Oafw80w
