Never been to NOLA but I like that it took place there and drove home the clichés to remind you of it.
I watched it on Tubi last week and I liked it well enough. If you like 80's crime drama's with a splash of romance you'll like it. Ending is a bit abrupt, but overall it's decent. 6.5 is about right.
Just watched it. Adding it to my Christmas line-up.
I couldn't think of an arbitrary enough number so settled for 1.

Funny little detail there. I supposed he'd have to move his shop at the most it would seem. We aren't exactly sure where they actually live so maybe that's a convenience they wouldn't have to give up as the shop could in different neighborhood then the shop.

Yeah he was a real POS for that and so were his soldiers for going along with it.

Well the whole dinosaurs survived the meteors and evolved was weird. The dystopian backdrop was kind of cliched for the time, so many movies were doing this and seemed Mario Bros. jumped right in with no originality. Pre-production and directing was said to be a nightmare. All involved including the actors have said it was not a pleasant shoot and production because they couldn't get along with the director and the many script changes.
The director mentions not being really in to video games or following much source material. To be fair there wasn't much at the time, but he could've played the games and watched the cartoon for at least a little insight. Bowser or "King Koopa" was more of snake man than a fire breathing, spiked turtle creature. Besides some blips and nods, you'd almost never know this was Mario Bros. movie besides the names of the characters.
That all said It isn't the worst movie and I wouldn't say it's the worst video game movie but reasons above and more I probably missed it's a bad movie. I just try to give it the benefit of the doubt.
I don't really think Cameron is all that, but in this she's SMOOOOKIN'!

Agreed. I couldn't finish the latest Predator movie. This one was alright, but it was kinda weird with Fishburne's character and the infighting between the Predators kinda weakened this movie. It's still enjoyable though.
I thought she was cute as Countess' friend on The Parkers. I'm also ashamed to admit I watched The Parkers.
