There are a few scenes a bit off too, but plenty of our fav. movies do right? Lets take a look.
For 1+2 those guys were basically wasting his time with chatter so Alonzo could escape. I'm sure you visited someone and while waiting for them to get ready a family member of theres is talking nonsense to you. In this case was playing along since he knows its a dangerous situation.
3 - this scene is what males everyone wonder and I think we can all agree, Jake got lucky but as another poster mentioned - The leader of that gang wasnt just some thug like his two friends but a powerful crimelord to the level of the 3 wisemen, and thus not as blood thirsty as evident by how calm he was in the kitchen and how much he knew about Alonzo. By the scenes end it came down to if hes gonna kill this cop whom his cousin admittedly stopped from being raped. Only someone real messed up would go through that. As far letting him go. I doubt Jake could or would go through looking for trouble with them at that point and the gang leader knew that.
4.found this pretty good answer on Yahoo answers - "hes saying hes so powerful and destructive that he makes King Kong look like a little capuchin monkey. its a turn of phrase meaning he (King Kong) doesnt have anything in his/her personal traits or abilities that is better than what i got
5.as far as that final scene, thats a bit dicey too. We know that entire neighborhood hated Lonzo. He probably robbed, threatened and arrested them or their family and there was nothing they could do. All the other cops that stepped to Alonzo probably were dead or there never were any. So the neighborhood was glad to see someone brave enough to stand up to him -- that is a cop. Would it go down like that? Maybe not, but its a movie =)
Agreed 100%
If you havent watched yet go ahead and watch Next Karate Kid so it doesn't feel left out.
So as far as LAC, a movie I like actually - I think the problem is that Jamie Foxx and his partner are way cocky at first. They represent the law and think they know all. They keep getting shown up until he finally realizes he know what he's gotta do. Butlers character then unsuspectedly is beaten for his slip up.
In SW, we have Anakin who is powerful but the council like Foxx, were perhaps not cocky but not cautious and naive. They didnt consider how powerful his potential was even though they were warned, heck. Sidious played everyone. As far as the battle, Anakin is strong but was a sloppy kid, in all of his fights, he fights with anger and strength, Obi Wan fights with finesse and minds his surroundings. Anakin loses for his same sloppines and slip up.
Both "antagonists" are strong/smart but are bested by the " protagonists" and in both instances everyone underestimates the other and the antagonists slip up big time.
A poor line that I hate is how Obi Wan says Anakin knows everything he knows and is a better Jedi than he'll ever be.
So i dont think the flaw is characters being talked up, its just those that should see being warned should heed the warning.
Yes, the scene is dissapointing the way it plays out, but I've seen this explanation numerous times - Sidious is just that dangerous. Even though Yoda and Mace could hold their own against him, he was still very strong and they struggled.
When do I get a raise?
He probably didn't expect it to be a big gathering with Stu, her AND the kids AND be invited. Also as poster Jrphilly says, the added fact it's in the restaurant for a business meeting makes even more unexpected.
As of writing this, it's now a 6.7. I think this is a fair rating. Jackie's stunts make the movie an instant classic and there are some funny parts - intentional and unintentional like the wheel chair kid. Everything else about it is tangled and messy.
It's been awhile since I've seen any of the movies, but The Predators hunt what they consider dangerous game. In the case of Predator 1 and 2, humans with a violent nature and firearms. In predator 1 - the Militia and then Dutch and his squad. In predator 2, the gang members. In both Predator movies, the predator shows up and is enticed by the heat of battle.
The Predators ideally want to hunt Aliens, but they're dormant in the Predator movies(?), hence why they hunt them in the Alien vs. Predator movies.
That might be part of where the idea for Tropic Thunder came from
Agreed. On topic though, this site seems to still have steady traffic. I'm glad I found it.
XD
Maybe. I think when he saw Robocop he assumed he'd only arrest him, but if he killed Lewis, he'd have shot him dead on the spot or it least shot a near fatal shot at him.
I'm happy to join in here favoring T1 over T2. I say this as a fan of all the movies. T1 just felt more tight. We had Reese, Sarah and the Terminator. I also felt like the Terminator though it was basically unstoppable it was destructible and Reese talks about it's anatomy. In T2 everyone has a hard on for T1000 which is cool to a degree, but it's like overkill with no explanation. I've always wondered, it's a machine, where is the computer? Is it a bunch of nanobites in the liquid? Even the T3 computer made more sense. I also like how it was a human vs. machine conflict. T2 and on a machine is fighting on behalf of the humans. This makes Reese my fav. character in the series.
I could go on, T1 was just a more tight movie for me.
Thanks for the info guys haha, I did some digging on my own and found this:

You guys must know something I dont know... What is an asylum movie??
Yep I agree with you and IMdb. "Horror" is too strong of a genre to put Se7en in. Some parts I suppose could be horror, but not enough to solely make it so.
I think Nightmare on Elm Street produced a few nightmares for me. I was a kid when I first watched it so it messed with me a bit haha.
What I saw was - Strive for the change you want, but be careful about what you do to attain it. Ralph wanted a medal and to be recognized and have a better life, but he brought the bug into another game, endangered others including characters from several games, and was manipulated by King Candy.
In the end he made things right and recognized the damage he caused. Lesson learned.
I've not seen the 2nd movie as of writing this but assume he is dead. They make it pretty clear in the movie you die outside your game, your dead. No respawn. The bugs from the shooter game are attracted and killed by light, bug zapper things and King Candy who became part bug got zapped.
