Agree for the most part but despite Di$ney bastardizing the franchise like i knew they would, Rogue One wasn't nearly as bad as TFA which was just a hot cup of diarrhea with nostalgia bait sprinkled on top.
Ugh. That is indeed a problem today with many writers viewing & portraying history through the filter of modern ideals
The OP does make a valid point regarding the paid off "victims" who chose silence in exchange for wealth and fame. Hollywood is so seedy and corrupt that it's obvious that this has always been just routine practice and barely scratches the surface. While I understand the dilemma for those tempted by fame in wealth at the end of the day they are ultimately complicit in the longstanding seedy, degenerate & completely corrupt politics of Hollywood.
Must be the same ones who cast Oscar the Grouch. But seriously the she's been established as being little more than a spoiled rich kid with major familial connections in the entertainment industry. This explains why someone so talent-less and unattractive gets pushed on the public. Good old fashioned nepotism.
"if there is anything I am sick of it is the crazed feminist praise of a poorly written character and their only defense is to cast labels of sexism and bash a different character from the previous trilogy. No defense whatsoever just name calling and deflection. and deflection that is not even correct see AP post below for why your Luke to Rey comparison is garbage."
The fanboy TFA defenders are bad enough but it's these obsessive adolescent internet feminists who I do my best to just ignore. Most of them aren't even Star Wars fans and are merely latching on to MaRey Sue because of "Girl Power" It's the same thing every time. Any criticism of the poorly written character = "sexists", "man babies", "if she's a Mary Sue so is Luke", etc . It's like they're all following the same script.
I can't believe nobody has mentioned that transvestite looking Cara Delvine or whatever her name is that Hollywood has been aggressively trying to force on the public over the past several years. Granted this is actually brought up fairly often but there is still a number of people who find her attractive although most of her fans seem to be white teenage/20 something lesbian/bi female sycophants. Rarely see guys making a big deal about her.
Ethan Hawke was okay. Unfortunately Chris Pratt's heart wasn't in this performance"
That line delivery was an inside joke in my family for years after i saw it as a kid. Found out years later that the actor is from New York city making it more fitting I think.
It makes sense that the unassuming morally neutral, homeless man would end up with the gold. It was consistant for Paxton's naive (but most moral) character to be convinced to take off without obsessing over the gold as he was the one character who expressed a willingness multiple times to forgo the gold to get out alive.
It was indeed suggested that the Targaryans carry some sort of "crazy gene" implied to be at least somewhat due to generations of inbreeding. "Crazy" but not necessarily evil though Aerys was certainly both. The situation with the Lannisters is quite different for two reasons. 1. Lannisters don't have a history of inbreeding. It was a one off thing. 2. Joffrey was an evil moron but "mad/crazy" doesn't accurately describe him.
There is also an unusually high number of characters who are products of incest in this series and nearly all of them are interestingly among the most well adjusted/normal.
It was a nickpick but a legitimate one that you couldn't really justify in the end and you're right it isn't worth going around in circles about.
I'd say the only people who we pretty much know will not die next episode are Jon Snow & the Hound.
Tormund. Possible but highly unlikely at this point as he is virtually the only Wildling character at this point who isn't an uncredited extra so to kill him off would likely require a new prominent Wildling character to be introduced to take his place. Plus he hasn't made his move on Brienne yet.
Gendry. Possible (shock value) but unlikely they would bring back Gendry, the last remnant of the Baratheon line just to immediately kill him off.
Jorah. (shock value) Possible but again unlikely that they would bother having Samwell improbably cure his greyscale just to immediately kill him off.
Beric. Very possible as he and his companion have the least amount of stake in the main plot although his lord of light resurrection abilities strongly suggest he's being kept from dying for a reason. Is that reason to be red shirted in a suicidal "capture a wight" plan? We will see.
Thoros. Most likely to be killed off. Has no major stake in the plot and killing him off raises the stakes and tension for Jon Snow and Baric with no one left to resurrect them. If you're a betting man you should bet on it being Thoros who bites it.
@sleepingtiger there are these things called movie bootlegs that are readily available on the internet these days. My guess is the OP was watching one of those.
To say it made "well over" it's budget is misleading and to call it a box office success would be even more so. Even factoring the budget 48 million is still very much in the "breaking even" territory.
Looks like you're back to square one again. You've already been given examples of why your Joffrey theory just isn't supported. Like I said confused and/or trolling as you're just repeating the same thing at this point along with trying to divert/muddle the conversation with this nonsense about SJW, void of context that actually makes sense, however it's a free internet so by all means do as you will.
Okay now I'm back to my initial gut feeling that I'm either dealing with someone hopelessly confused or trolling. Perhaps a little of both. Do you even know what a SJW is? If you did you would see that it's usage here makes even less sense than your Joffrey theory.
SJW? lol! Not sure what that could possibly have to do with anything. Not it's not a big deal but a simple matter of challenging the fairly bold assertion of "Joffrey being a product of incest = evil" that just wasn't really supported by anything. You have evolved your position into a more generalized & reasonable theory of incest depicted in fiction but the critique of your original statement is still valid.
Sorry but your rationale for coming to these conclusions are quite arbitrary & just don't make a whole lot of sense.
Discussing "possibilities" is one thing but asserting this idea of "Incest = Why Joffrey is evil" as if it's based on anything more than wild speculation is disingenuous
@Barclays (350) lol! His being a product of incest had nothing to do with him being an evil little twerp. It was largely because of the way he was brought up by his crazy evil mother and probably himself. This was was specifically alluded to by Kevan Lannister. Tommen and Marceyla were fine so the silly "evil because of incest" idea is erroneous.
