I don't know, but the bottom line is that the film is getting some major positive buzz, which means there's clearly an audience ready and waiting to see it. That said, it would be cool if they had a theme night screening where everyone who came was encouraged to wear Black Panther masks or something like that,lol.

People already recall, know and acknowledge Blade---but let's be real, it's been over a decade since the last Blade film (which wasn't anywhere near as good as the first two---BLADE 2 is incredible,and even almost better than the first, IMHO--mainly because Guillermo del Toro directed it)----when's the last time you saw a major film featuring a black superhero? Can't think of one,can you? 'Nuff said right there. And Blade and Black Panther are two entirely differently characters----they're not automatically both the same simply because they're black. I'm sure people can make up their own minds about whether they like BLACK PANTHER or not----after they actually get a chance to see it.

Hell naw, they don't ever say that s***---you're right about that. The OP's ignorant (and frankly, stupid as hell) assumption (despite the fact that this person hasn't even seen the film yet) that critics won't be able to judge it on its own merits just speaks volumes about their own prejudice about the film (which they still haven't seen yet, mind you.) She/he acts like the film's just going to be given a pass simply because it's a film about a black superhero, not because the film could actually be any good (if the fact that it's been selling out more advanced tickets than any other superhero film and getting a lot of good buzz, isn't a clue, I don't know what the hell is.) And the OP's rant just basically proved your entire point, especially with that stupid uncalled-for crack about one of the Obamas.

So what if you don't find Michelle Obama attractive (which she is)? Nobody gives a damn what you think about her, and frankly, I am sick of you stupid right-wing idiots constantly dragging the Obamas into a conversation which is not even about them. So why even bring them the hell up in the first place? And of course, critics can judge this film just like any other damn film they see on the regular. Why don't you just admit that you don't like the fact that a film about a black superhero exists (even though it isn't even out yet) and it's pretty arrogant and backwards of you to suggest that the film (which you haven't even seen yet, so your opinion of it dosen't even matter right now) can't be viewed on its merits like any other film. So you can take your opinions and shove them right back up your stupid racist a**, for I all care.
The thing is, the film's already getting major good buzz from pre-screenings, so that's a good sign that those expectations will be met---simply because, let's face it, it's something that's way different from the usual predictable norm of superhero films, and apparently, some fans have been looking for there to be a film about this character for years. Plus, it's coming out during Black History Month, so I gotta see it---I won't have any excuse not to, being black and all,lol.
Yeah, i just saw it, and liked it---I also liked how offbeat the cast (including the lead) look---more like regular people, which was refreshing. The show is definitely going to be crazy---I knew was probably going to like it when I saw the trailer, and I sure did,lol. Looking forward to see how the crazy teacher and the method to his madness play out,lol.

Yeah, over 40 years ago when they were much younger, so what's your point? Most of the comic superheroes were created by white guys until recently---we already know--old news.
Progressive means to change---there's nothing "crap' about anything changing---it's just not the kind of change YOU like. Too bad---get used to it, it's gonna happen,lol.

"Ebonics" is just another name for African-American slang, some of which even white people speak in everyday life, like, "Here's a shout-out", "Come at me", and a few other terms. Nothing weird or strange about it you can't understand.
