OMG, Jonathon's voice is my biggest complaint about the movie! First off, it sounds inauthentic--like he's consciously trying to make it sound deeper than it really is, which is annoying. Secondly it makes the movie more absurd than it already is because no one would ever be dumb enough to believe Martha was really female when she spoke with that voice. As if.
She looks disfigured in this movie & it's completely distracting. Not only are her lips botched, the lipstick they put on them looks a hot mess. Miscast as far as I'm concerned.
Those LIPS?
Anna Faris's lips ruined this movie.
WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!
Even just thinking about it makes my palms sweat.
Ex-CUSE me!? It's an '80s song (the movie is set in '88) and the final words are "funny how tiiiiime fliiiies" which fits perfectly in a movie about time travel. How dare you! That scene makes me extremely happy.
I thought the same thing. That would have made the movie better, actually. Him committing crimes in order to be the first one on the scene(s).
Yea you can, just go back into the projector room and speed up the reel.
OMG it all makes sense now! I just came to this board to say how boring the main character was, and that I'd rather the movie had been about ANY of the other characters instead (the brother, the mother, the surfer dude friend, ANYONE). And now you tell me the main character is Tom Hanks' son? Disgusting. I kept wondering how they got all these big name actors while the main guy was a nobody.
Oh--and I too was annoyed by the over the top music, clearly meant to appeal to teenagers and make the movie seem cooler than it was. Instead it just ages it terribly.
"It may bark if they needed to be quiet"...and yet when they were staying in that motel, the little kid was reading out loud about what his parents had done. I was surprised no one told him to pipe it down if they were so paranoid about being caught. Motels have shared walls/floors/ceilings.
I didn't get that part either, however it did make the ending more powerful when they ended up driving off & leaving River in the middle of the street also.
I think she's weird looking...like she has FAS or something.
One thing I kept asking myself while watching: Who's the intended audience for this?? I doubt straight people would be interested in going to see this in a theater. Yet for a "gay" film, it was quite well made. It didn't feel low budget like 99% of them.
He's a "twunk" lol
His surprise appearance in this movie totally distracted me too...I couldn't even pay attention to the scene because I was suddenly watching Ferris Bueller. Bad casting for that character.
Every time he called them "cocksuckers" I was like, "Is that supposed to be an insult?" I personally love sucking dick, so that wouldn't be an insult to me at all. I'll suck a dick up 'til I hiccup.
Oh okay, I must not have been paying close enough attention. Good thing the neighbor didn't drop a deuce then!
Right after accusing Powder of being gay too, LULZ!
