WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can only agree. Totally boring and pointless BS! Seriously. AMEN TO THAT!!! Oh God, yes!! Just watched it and thought, "This is torture - one loud click every freakin' second! :-) "I've tried three times to watch it over the years, and it just lags and lags and crawls. The opening convo was okay. Not great, but it had my attention. Then it's just gabriel byrne walking around talking to different people about stuff the viewer has not been included in (events happening off screen, with names we don't know). I am trying to figure out WTF is happening in the story, and honestly keeping up with all the dozens of names is impossible. Also, it is waaaayyy too talkie; all dialogue with hardly anything else happening. They take 'Tell don't show' to a whole new level with this one." MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow, what a pretentious stinker of a movie! Thanks for summing it up for me. The movie classic I was very much reminded of was of course when at the end Lopez is crawling towards the badly wounded Penn down on the rock plateau - 1947's western blockbuster DUEL IN THE SUN, where the likewise latina Jennifer Jones crawls towards the badly wounded Gregory Peck, only to die with him (albeit a little more romantic, in a way) but that's one of the most intense and heartbreaking movie moments there are, believe me. The story, the incredible music, the setting - of course Mr. Stone knows his movie history! "Hard to say who's in the wrong " And that's exactly what makes a great movie. Uh-oh, that's male sexism! It should be girlcotting for a change... :-) Oh man, I SURE AS HELL hope so!!!! No, the real and sad truth is: Dwayne Johnson was born too late. In case you haven't noticed or aren't aware, Hollywood is dead. The star system as we know it has already come to an end, with names like Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Costner, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Harrison Ford etc. etc. all in more or less retirement. Hollywood is much too busy right now teaching us "woke" lessons, a radical left-wing-dominated industry using their power not to entertain us but to push their agenda. I'm all about equality, the same rights and opportunities for all races, genders etc., as everyone in their right mind should be, so don't try to grab me by the balls there in any way. Bottom line is, actors these days don't have decades to evolve and enjoy a real lifelong career like James Stewart, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and the hundreds and hundreds more, in the last 90 years of Tinseltown. So, sorry Dwayne, you're doing the best you can, and that's okay, but Arnie and Sly just had the luck of having been born 30 years earlier than you. JUMANJI! Yeah, sure, of course, but maybe I just don't like getting incessant and blatant "woke" lessons shoved up my a** for the last two years... I want to be entertained, because that's what's Hollywood is all about, in case somebody forgot. If there's something to be learned, good, why not, but Hollywood is not PBS or the Learning Channel. I really wonder how all these "black awareness" movies did at the box office (if there was any, that is)! Yeah, but that's instant death at least! No, it isn't. 30 is 30, and when it's solved you check it and move on to the next number. Excuse me? I only KNOW that phrase from my fav movie PULP FICTION, when Marcellus Wallace hears that Vincent Vega (Travolta) is in his club, talking to Butch (Willis), and he says off-screen: "Vincent Vega in the house? My ni**er! Get your ass over here!" So I always had to think of that scene when hearing it from Denzel all the time! You have a point there, indeed!! John Goodman! :-))) EXACTLY!!!!!!! HA!!! Asked myself the same thing. Probably so... thanks for the input, wouldn't have thought of that, I have to say... But makes sense.. Would have prefered a bit more from the film itself because I really liked the premise! Thank you I'm not the only one. This is so pathetic... But I guess we can be glad it's at least a male! :-) Before anybody starts shouting: OF COURSE, people, in the real world anybody can and may date anybody he/she likes but this is just not the norm in reality. It IS pure Hollywood leftist agenda, of course it is... But answer me this: Could it be just as common or possible in movies the other way round? A white man and a black woman? Can you name movies with this constellation? Really, just curious!
