The green tint wasn't there in 1999. It wasn't until Reloaded/Revolutions came out on DVD that they put the green on the original film – purely to be more in line with the look of the sequels.
It has since been corrected on the 2018 4K release which is closer to how it originally looked.
Here's some comparisons between an original 35mm print and the overly-green home video releases.

Movies disappear from streaming services all the time for reasons outside of consumer control. No one is going to come to your house and take away your Blu-rays. Streaming is incredibly convenient, and that's about it.
