I agree that it was a convenient ending. I was definitely thinking there would be something else more twist-like to round out such a huge build of tension. Somehow I didn't predict Perry being the rapist only because that seemed like such a HUGE coincidence which I'm still "meh" about as far as a narrative choice.
A lot of bigger actors are flocking to TV because of the lack of original projects for them to work on in film these days. Not everyone wants to do yet another super hero blockbuster flick. Makes a lot more sense to do TV work where you can really focus on creating a well-rounded character.
California native here, welcome to our Christmas.
There could have been an endless amount of complications from whatever it was he was taking. May not happen to everyone but it just happened to him this time.
You can assume that he did/bought something while Clay went inside the party to get Blair. He was also alone at the gas station. There was time for him to do another hit after whatever else he did at that house.
Mmm there's no reason to believe that had to be a black friend. If they're in an interracial relationship they could easily joke about things like that. (i.e. the "blackman" joke Rose makes with Chris)
I was 12 in 2003 and I felt like the kids in the movie were more immature than the kids I grew up with. As for comparing them to today, post-internet and social media 12-year-olds are even more different. More mature in the information they know and "adult" behavior but less mature socially.
That's really interesting that having kids made him regret it, mainly because many of Speilberg's films (definitely this one) make a statement about childhood/being childlike. Roy wandered off into the unknown with the innocence and naivety of a child, following only his own curiosity and imagination. Being aware of the responsibilities he had as an adult would have been untrue to his character.
Well the whole movie is about them landing in America. If they landed somewhere else... it would be a different movie.
It's absolutely hilarious that this show put West Covina on the map for any reason. There is literally no reason to go there haha.
The movie industry these days centers around blockbusters--if it can't make triple its budget in the first weekend, it's considered a flop (which is ridiculous). Unfortunately that means many creative ideas get passed on because they aren't guaranteed to be an explosive hit. I'm just glad Peele was able to get in touch with the right people who could get this film produced.
That's kind of like saying somebody killing zombies in a zombie movie would go to jail for murder...
It was actually the grandfather wearing the mask and kidnapping people. In the very first scene of the movie it's likely that Andre was in a relationship with Rose and was talking to her on the phone at the time.
Because Peele was too creative for that! I'm glad it didn't come back, it would have been too slasher movie-ish and would have cheapened Chris' escape.
Can't tell if you're trolling or just stupid.
I don't think that sentiment is limited to left-wing people (or even white people).
I'm a bigot because I asked for another person's perspective? I don't get it. What exactly am I supposed to be more educated about?... slavery? So confused.
Not sure what you mean by that. Altered reality how? In real life black people often feel threatened by white people with good reason, as they also did in the movie. The stakes in the movie were far more twisted and extreme, but real life runs along similar lines far lower on the spectrum.
It can't be a "skewed" perspective if the white people actually were trying to capture the guy all along.
What is science if not magic quantified?
