St. Elmo's Fire - lame-o movie (I was a teen 17 in 1985,
so I know) but...two excellent hit songs from the soundtrack.
"St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion) - John Parr - #1 for 2 weeks.
"Love Theme From, "St. Elmo's Fire" - David Foster (instrumental) : Reached #15 but it's excellent.
Dionne Warwick did a vocal version on the TV show "Solid Gold" ,
in the Autumn of 1985. I guess if you had to give it a title, it'd be "Time Rolls On".
It's here at YouTube :

Haven't seen it since it aired then, until today.
(If you can't click the link, then copy and paste into an
address bar r just Google Dionne Warwick Love Theme St Elmo's Fire 1985.)
Any of th BEst Pictures between 2010 up to Moonlight. (Haven't seen Shape of Water yet.
try the most recent remake of Ben Hur, it was awesome.
Ironic you'd mention Whitney. I just re-watched the 1991/1992 ABC special "This Is Me" .
I recorded it the night it aired and watching her (yesterday) belt out a mostly acapelaa version of The Greatest Love of All in studio, with just her back up singers, reminded me of just how great she really was. ...and all thrown away for stupid fixes/drugs or whatever.
I can say this, in watching the 1881 concert scenes (which was the tour I saw in May 1991), she was definetly NOT on drugs then. I'm not accusing anyone but 'someone' started her on drugs and it had to be sometime after The Bodyguard.
Anyhow back to the main point and for me it doesn't matter 'how they went :
David Bowie (I consider under 90 too young)
George Michael
John Lennon
George Harrison
Prince
Michael Jackson ---> The most because he was the last person I expected this to happen too.
Elvis Presley
Buddy Holly
Richie Valens
J.P. Richardson aka The Big Bopper
Johnny Ace (early rock & roll singer, accidentally shot himself)
James Dean (the actor, not Jimmy Dean the singer)
Andy Gibb, Robin Gibb, Maurice Gibb
Donna Summer
There's so many singers, entertainers, actors in TV and movies and more that left us too early and for many different reasons. Whatever the reason, none are sadder than others...it's all just plain sad.
So far I am. :) ...and thanks to all of you for the welcomes.
I stated along time ago on my review(On IMDB) that 'one' go around with characters the first time is more than enough.
Spin-off's, sequels, 'revamps' m reunion 'moies of the week' andnow reboots 'rarely' if ever work.
"Roseanne' (#2) seemed to be working but we know what happened there.
When I heard about 'Fuller House, I rolled my eyes. I'll never watch it, I like the Tanners in the original,
I don't want to see an aging Danny, Jesse and Joey and others. These kind of shows ruin those memories.
This by the way is nothing new. When comedian/actor Danny Thomas's show "Make Room For Daddy ended after a run from 1953 to 1964. He returned in the early 1970s with "Make Room For 'Grand-Daddy' . His young kids now grown and (already) with kids o their own. Only lasted on season. Not surprising given how TV was changing then with All In The Family and Mary Tyler Moore Show.
If I owned Hollywood and all their studios (etc.) I'd forbid doing
this kind of unoriginal nonsense. Be original as possible or don't bother.
Oh that's easy. I've always wanted that Beatles picture that
hung over Jack Triper's bed on Three's Company. Very cool like 'painting' of the group.
Also that picture that was by the roomattes' front window.
The 'life' image that looked like a woman as a butterfly or something.
WOW! That was quick. Luckyily I couldn't find where to sign out. LOL!
Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you liked my reviews.
I don't do them very often anymore, in fact I've only done like 3 in the last 10 / 11 months I think.
Yes, the #1 hit game was a 'hit' for quite awhile. Wasn't easy, that's for sure.
I'd have continued here but in reality (kind of like an actor or
a singer) I really needed a break and I guess IMDb (in the worst possible way) gave it to me.
Anyhow, I reealy do have sign out now. I may be back. Bye (again) for now.
