While I can agree that the movie jumped a bit in tone from love story to homosexual acceptance drama to cancer drama to court drama, I think you're way off regarding the cliches.
This is based on a true story and in real life the two look way more masculine than the characters in the movie. So not a cliche, but real life!
Regarding the gay cop: So, if we have gay characters in a movie, they need to be ugly? I don't get your problem with this character. Nothing cliched about him.
Regarding Ellen Page casting: Yea well, maybe you could deem this a PR stunt, maybe it was a role she wanted to do for a longer time but only felt comfortable with after having come out, I seriously don't know. But she did a good job. It shouldn't matter whether the actress is gay in real life, but evenso, this was only one role. I doubt she'll only be playing lesbian parts from now on.
Regarding lesbian singer: I doubt many people watching the movie realize that, and even if, so what? Does this really lessen the quality of the movie? I mean the movie is literally over at that point. ;)
"last cliché :
the message of the movie :only a "minority" person can represent or defend a question of minority to gain equality ----> this is the most important failure of the movie."
- Sorry, but what exactly do you mean by that?
I think it was a hornet. (We're talking about the insect on the window, not in the pool, right?)
