Yeah, not in real life unless the mother doesn't want him in there for whatever reason.
Just what I thought.. I wondered why he woke Aurora who probably had less knowledge than him (being that he's an engineer) rather than someone who may actually have a clue. Perhaps he just couldn't find any of the crews pods, they may have been in a different area but then he did have a year to try and find it!
Oh no.. I better not watch this film then because films can only be true to life! What films meet your approval criteria?
I agree with the others, you've clearly not seen this film.. he doesn't think he's better than the others, he has just made a personal promise to God that he would never hold a gun again (for reasons explained in the film). Even if you don't care about him, you should care about the people he saved (who thought the same as you until he saved their lives).
Glad wideopenspace got the true meaning of the film! I think you should watch a Rammstein music video instead of an actual historical film.
I definitely agree with that.. if the film was even slightly accurate, Desmond certainly had someone watching out for him! He had absolutely no way to defend himself but still survived!
I completely agree.. I was almost expecting the soldiers to break out into a round of applause for him or him to have his arms out like Jesus on the stretcher. For me, it completely took away from the emotions and what for me, had been a pretty good demonstration of what a waste of life it had been for both sides.
I think the Japanese (at least from what is shown in the film) were more willing to resort to dirty tactics such as pretending to surrender and then attacking.. The main message I left with was what an absolute waste of life on both sides.. human beings left to rot when we see, they could have been saved. It's always the young and naive who pay the price for the rich and corrupt!
I agree, I watched 1 episode of season 2 and am glad to hear I didn't make a mistake there!
Game of Thrones is easily the best TV show I have ever seen. I agree with you though about comparing like to like which is why it's so hard to come up with a number 1 film overall.
I enjoyed some aspects of the show however I didn't enjoy the surreal elements. I thought Mads was a great Hannibal but can definitely see why it was cancelled, I quit watching before the end.
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I'm not generally a fan of sci-fi and wasn't expecting much from this film at all but I gave it an 8 out of 10.. I thought it was quite an unusual take on this genre.
I hope so.. Negan is a great baddie!
I really enjoyed The Shawshank Redemption but I'm not sure I would consider it the best film ever.. I'm not sure what I would put in that place though.. American History X is probably my number 1 film but I do also think it could be argued that the Lord of the Rings films deserve the position because of their scope but it's so difficult to choose just 1 film and say it's the best because 'the best' can mean so many different things and doesn't always mean 'most enjoyable'.
I could feel the frustration when nobody seemed to care so long as it wasn't affecting them.. and then to read at the end that President Regan claimed it was a priority whilst reducing funding, disgusting. HIV shouldn't exist in this day and age!
That's a shame, I really enjoyed Deadpool, I thought it was really funny but then I guess, we all have different tastes in humour. I gave it an 8/10 and found it much more entertaining than a lot of the other superhero films (other than Iron Man).
I agree, there are a couple of gay actors in this, Jim Parsons being the one I am aware of however this is a wider issue than just this particular film.. how many openly gay movie stars can you think of? Statistically there must be some but they just keep it quiet. Zachary Quinto, Ian McKellen, George Takei, Jim Parsons and Wentworth Miller are the only openly gay men I can think of and I think that's sad, there must be more.
Of course because you know more than the trained doctors and scientists don't you!
I'm pleased to hear this.. I hadn't thought I would watch it because it's not the same without Kiefer Sutherland but maybe I will give it a go after all.
I much prefer Robert Rodriguez as a director to Quentin Tarantino.. I think Tarantino is seriously overrated although I have enjoyed quite a few of his films.
