Jeff Bezos Asks ‘Who’d You Pick as the Next Bond?’ After Amazon Takes Control of 007 Franchise; Henry Cavill Fans Swarm His Replies</blockquote>
Yeah I don't think too many fans will be devastated by this news . not just the fact nothing seemed to be happening, but that last movie which was almost like The Last Jedi of Bond, (and Spectre wasnt thought of as too much better either) it was really only Casino Royale and Skyfall that truly hit the mark
Well at least there will be movement now, as it looked like nothing was happening. Obviously the new film (total reboot), and no doubt other stuff - spin off movies, stream series, etc.. ok not ideal for traditionalists , but probably necessary for Bond to get with the times (which Bond has always done). The emphasis must be on the tentpole films though (like Star Wars always should have been) maybe Nolan or tarantino will be viable choices now?
I wonder if Cavill might be back to being in the short list now as I think it was Broccoli and Wilson who specifically said they were only looking at an early 30s actors (ATJ being the front runner) . Amazon might not mind Cavill is older and is pretty much the #1 choice of fans/the internet
<blockquote>Reasons for Craig’s departure remain unclear. Some said the actor’s schedule ran into roadblocks with that of his wife, actress Rachel Weisz. Other sources said that the actor soured on the role after Queer failed to perform not only at the box office but also in the awards season race.</blockquote>
Sounds like he's annoyed at Queer (no oscar noms),
<blockquote><b>The 'woke' storylines that have left once popular Doctor Who 'on the verge of being cancelled'</b>
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-14408525/woke-storylines-cancel-doctor-bbc.html
Doctor Who, one of the UK's most beloved science-fictions shows, faces 'extermination' after its 'woke' storylines enraged viewers.
The long-running sci-fi phenomenon, which has a global following of millions, has seen its ratings plummet after fans were left fed up by some of its recent plots.
Fuming 'Whovians' were outraged at the introduction of transgender and non-binary characters who would lash out at those 'assuming their gender', as well as a deranged villain played by a drag queen.
Campaigners have accused bosses behind the BBC series of 'promoting the cult of gender ideology' in the latest episodes of the time-hopping romp, which is streamed globally thanks to a lucrative deal with Disney thought to be worth £100million.
It comes amid rumours the franchise's lead star, Ncuti Gatwa, is on the verge of quitting his role as the Time Lord and that the show could soon be cancelled.
The Scottish actor, 32, joined the cast in 2023 after Jodie Whittaker bowed out as the Doctor, but it's rumoured he's set to walk away from the show after two seasons.
The recent outing of the Doctor suffered abysmal ratings, with Ncuti's first series attracting between 2.25million and 3.18million viewers - a tiny fraction of what it used to pull in.
The slump comes after Russell T Davies returned as showrunner and introduced a string of controversial plots - which included David Tennant's Doctor realising he was gay after developing a crush on the 'hot' Sir Isaac Newton.</blockquote>
hes just doing his usual sarcastic humour thing is all
anyway its fun to see him talk about Batman 89 (presumaly he was on the short list for the role but i doubt he ever considered doing it, )
Stellar guest list (Demi Moore, Pam Anderson, Jeff Goldblum, Luke Skywalker, Ralph Finnes, Sebastian Stan, Zoe Saldana, Guy Pearce, Adrian Brody etc )
Boring as f**k to watch
Yes one need only look at the later mutiple 'Berman Trek' series, too much, of varying quality, eventually totally killed Trek on TV and films. and there was little/no desire for more (until Paramount took a risk and went back to TOS for a big budget movie)
Agreed at 78/79! episodes there's more than enough,
but even so the series ending when it did after only 3y (and when it was in decline) created an insatiable desire for more.
also that it bowed out before it got too bad/70s/unwatchable going even worse than s3 (therefore lessening anticipation for more)
Shouldve got Oliver Stone to do it.
Taffin 2: Taff of the Mourning

i actually thought he was great in the movie , he was funny but kind of serious in parts too.
Ruffalo doesn't where he is or what he's doing most of the time
Maybe they figured it was too jarring to have Ruffalo when it should really be Norton? idk
