I watched the first 3 a year ago with the plan to do a full rewatch.
Weirdly T3 felt dated compared to T2. I think it was a car chase where it felt very special effects heavy, video game like even.
T2s action feels a lot more real, possibly due to a lot more physical effects rather than special effects.
The house thing was odd. It seemed to suggest that Michael was after Laurie then there was a thing about a pattern then a thing about his house yet now he lives in the sewers 😂
Oh and I get it, it's certainly different. I'm personally not keen on the whole power thing as I think I prefer the ambiguity of what Michael is but I can see what they where trying to do.
It does feel like another movie at times with Michael added to make it a Halloween film.
Don't think it's one I'd watch again in a hurry. Also not keen on people who are like if you don't like it your stupid like the title of this post. Like people can understand a film and what it is trying to say and still not enjoy it
Which I already have.
The point is this film ruins Michael Myers. The character doesn't seem the same character as the other films.
I also felt this and kills lack the tension that made the original what it is. Michael didn't just kill back in the original, he stalked as well.
I will grant that this is different but it could have been different without also making Michael a shell of who he was
But Michael Myers isn't supposed to be deep. We aren't supposed to know what motivates him, the scary part was not knowing.
You can try to explore it but we should never know. Is he just a man stronger than your average man or a force of nature, the embodiment of evil?
The film could have been good but it ruined Michael's character. Michael should never work with someone, but seems to work with a random kid and is beat up by the kid. It's a joke.
Season of the witch is actually a great 80s horror
It feels like fan fiction. Like someone thinking what if Michael had someone working with him.
The problem is as you've said, Michael Myers would never work with someone. He's often said to be personification of evil. In the original we don't know why he kills, he doesn't appear to have a motive etc. and after this he never talks, just seems blank.
The key point is he's not your average serial killer. He cannot be reasoned with.
I've just watched kills and ends after seeing the 2018 film when it was out in cinemas.
This was different but I felt the whole plot with the babysitter didn't really make sense. In the original 1978 film, Michael is seen as a force of nature, the personification of evil. We don't know why he kills and that's what makes the original so good. You mention we want to understand him but the whole point in the original (not the rob zombie remakes) is there appears to be no explanation.
It also seems very out of character for him to team up with some kid and be able to be beat by the kid. Why he also hid for so long makes no sense.
This is a poor end for Michael Myers but he'll be brought back at some point. Both this and kills also lack any tension which is what made the original so good
Yeah this is a mix of the two
Have you watched the other Deadpool's?
Everything you hate about this film is what the Deadpool brand is about. My mutant analogy makes sense because you are complaining about the core point of the series.
Deadpool is an over the top stylised violent series with adult humour. To make this film different would ruin the point of the film. It's meant to be different to the other marvel stuff, an adult over the top version.
Don't like it then fine, but it has an audience. They are not going to change their brand when people do like it.
The kid would have someone to set this. Parent, carer etc.
Disney+ costs, someone has to buy it for children. The problem with a lot of parents these days is they just give a device to their child and expect other people to protect their child like the software, their ISP etc. but it should always start with the parent.
And there's racist stuff such as the aristocats
Disney now does a load of stuff. While people know it more for it's family animations it's not all it does.
Also Disney+ has star on it for non Disney stuff e.g. they have 24. You can set a profile for kids. Otherwise they'd see other non family friendly stuff. It's not the job of the studio to protect kids it's the parents job.
There was also a lot of casual racism in the old days of Disney
Your missing the point. The whole point of Deadpool is it's not a family friendly super hero film series. It would be like having an X-Men film without mutants
If you don't like this kind of film then fine, but it has an audience. I found this film was great. It didn't take itself too serious
100 percent. He would have the charisma but also the alien side
Trailer is certainly different
Sounds a lot like Praxeus which McTighe I believe wrote.
I always thought they missed something not having the Sea Devils the villain. But instead we got Legend of the Sea Devils
Yeah I've seen people say that 9 was suffering from PTSD and 10 does get over it but still feels guilty with 11 ignoring it. 12 is when the doctor takes of the mask.
I think RTD did say it was partly to help people realise crying isn't a bad thing but defo shouldn't be all the time.
One of the issues with shooting series back to back is worrying that none of the issues people had will have been heard in time. Not saying that writers should always listen to fans, but overall a lot of people found the crying too much and the finale too convoluted/easy fix with no consequences
I will say a lot of people have complained 15 is too human and I do agree.
I don't mind seeing a human element but it would be interesting to see more of his alieness. Even 10 showed this at times.
I get the reasoning, to show men cry, as mens mental health is a big topic at the moment.
The problem is if it's all the time it starts to lose it's impact. I remember hearing people saying this about the end scene of dot and bubble. It's a very powerful moment but imagine if we'd not seen the doctor previously cry, it would have hit much harder
