I hate to say it, but TMDb seems to be more active right now. The Let's Chat section has more and more posts every day. Most of the activity here is on the general discussion boards. But with all the recent improvements, this might be changing.
Why shouldn't people encourage others to come here? Does IMDb2 have individual movie and tv show boards? I don't think so...

Yes, we definitely need notification. I'm sure Jim's working on it, he's already been working so hard for us.
Personally, I would also like to have the option to view the threads in flat mode as well. I almost never used nesting on IMDb.

I never watched Dexter, but Seinfeld's finale was just completely absurd. Luckily, the show had already jumped the shark for me.

I'd really like to see all archives merged, to be honest.
While it's definitely improved, I have to be honest, I never used nesting on IMDb, unless I was really confused about who was replying to whom. I'm already seeing to downside of such a mode in a thread with as many replies as this one. it's difficult to find the most recent posts. That's why I always used flat. I'm kind of hoping we'll eventually get that option as well.

Just click on the Let's Chat feature and you'll see all the boards that ARE active.
And if you show the active boards on the main page here or a link to a page showing them, then people won't think the boards are dead and they'll be encouraged to join in.
Well, this site has already been copying IMDb in many ways. I don't think TMDb has a monopoly on showing active threads on the main paige. But it's helping that site to get more traffic and it might help this site. Plenty of people here are complaining about being turned off by individual boards being dead.
Very true. I might have slapped her myself if I was one of those people eating in the restaurant.
I don't think that's what the writers intended. But yeah, that's what makes it so hard to believe that Rachel didn't see what Mark's true intentions were.
I hope the next update will be (email) notification!
This site should have a "Let's Chat" section, like TMDb, which shows all the discussions that are active. That'll invite people to join in. (Email) notification might also help, I think.
