Hehe, you're so spot on with the script part, and her performance - though, I still believe in Zack Snyder. Taking 300, Watchmen, MoS, (BvS and Sucker Punch, if only for the action scenes) into account, it's clear he CAN direct good, coherent movies, and coherent/gorgeous action scenes (not all of them, mind you - i.e. BvS had too much visual clutter, but was overall nice to look at). Thing is, I think he needs to do it his way, or not at all - as this really doesn't seem like a Snyder movie at all... If WB can't let Snyder do his thing, then get another director imo. With JL it's clear, they seem so desperate to copy Marvel, instead of making it their own thing. If they bet on a "darker/grittier universe", god damn stick to it, instead of this half assed shit. Jokes are fine, but they were so forced here - and they could have been implemented so much better. I DO like the cast though, I think all of our heroes are greatly cast, but unfortunately underutilized to the extreme, through bad dialogue, character interaction, even acting it self (failure on the directors part, agree), horrible villain, and the story itself, which was ultimately one big jack off to Superman... Even though I disliked the movie, I think Cavill is doing just fine. It's the story and screenplay that's the problem. Mark my words; Black Widow will sacrifice herself/die infront of The Hulk, while Thanos has them beaten (more or less), making The Hulk reach a new level of rage, giving the others a breather/opening to take advantage of, before Thanos regains his footing. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST! Will happen this, or the next. I'm thinking our heroes will ultimately lose this battle, in the first movie, and turn it around in the second, winning the war. ;) It's not, though. Please no, the MCU is fine/big enough as it is already - adding the inconsistent bullcrap that is X-men, would be a huge ass fail on their part. I liked X-Men: First Class, nice movie - then Dofp was ok, and apocalypse was just bad. Even better, their current universe is not compatible with MCU. I'll go as far as saying JL did it far better. :P (Fuck the movie overall though) It's the bad version of Avengers. Where Avengers put heroes together and head to head, with everyone having good moments, better humor, better fights, and even a better story... Avengers respected all the heroes. JL didn't. It basically shat on everyone not Superman, even the bad guy. Superflous plot, and 90% of the jokes were forced and not funny. Wonder Woman (who held her own vs Doomsday): "Don't make me do this" -> Proceeds to get thoroughly owned, like her performance in BvS was non existing. Aquaman getting fucked under water, easily, by a villain. Flash slower than Superman. Holy fucking fuck. Only thing I somewhat liked was the characters themselves (personas, specially Supermans lighter mood, but not hero performance), but even that was heavily flawed with lame bickering and emoness. Again, something Avengers did better. Though, when it had to shit on every JL member anyways, the stink eye from Superman to the Flash. That was epic. ;) She really wasn't, she covered his rather slow turning arc... Just a small correction, it was Superman who was as fast as the Flash, maybe even faster, since he caught up to him at the end... Wonder Woman was merely "very fast", not Flash/Superman fast. And again, why did every hero besides Superman get their asses kicked whole movie, by either Steppenwolf or Superman - that's what I hate the most - that a villian the JL couldn't touch, with their combined strength, Superman easily solos him... None of the others got an epic moment vs. Steppenwolf either, only Superman, who effortlessly ragdolled him, and left him to the losers to try and clean up while he catches up to Flash to save civilians. Atrocious movie that shits on everyone not a Superman wanker. He was ok, it was the movie itself that was atrocious, with two hours of writers wanking off to Superman. It wouldn't have saved the movie for me, but it would definetly have made it better. Fuck WB. Which is why it's better if it's not based 100% on the base material - because it's bad af. It's for young kids. In comparison, BvS Doomsday fight/villain was a masterpiece compared to this. Hell, even Batman participated better in the Doomsday fight, than Aquaman/Wonder Woman/Cyborg/Le Flash did vs. Steppenwolf. As a team. All of a sudden, Superman just vastly overshadows EVERYONE, instead of only being a bit more powerful as portrayed in BvS, which is sadly far better than JL. Only thing about the whole Superman ordeal I liked, was his more easygoing attitude at the end. It's annoying the others are secondrate heroes, and I salute Marvel for not making that mistake - just about everyone get's to shine there, even if outclassed. Here's it's like one of those animated shows, where's it's just bad and inconsistent af. :/ Now just make them look useless, it was directly embarrasing to witness a villain Superman could easily defeat alone, while the combined JL couldn't. Looking back at BvS it surprises me even more, seeing Diana could hold her own vs. Doomsday, who's apparently so far above Steppenwolf in power and speed, it's not even funny. Still can't get over Aquaman getting manhandled by a weak villain underwater either... It didn't sow despair, it only made me annoyed. Why not let him be too late to interefering, and have a moment in the final battle Steppenwolf gets under water, and there he pulls a Superman on him, forcing Steppenwolf to take the fight up on land. Why the FUCK not let everyone shine? To be fair to Supes in BvS, it was clear he wasn't looking "to win", but to reason. Else it would've been over in a heartbeat. Only the kryptonite gas gave Batman an edge, after he persistently forced the fight. Should Superman have been hit in the first place though? Doubt it, specially now that according to JL he can move as fast as The Flash. :P Also, in BvS Wonder Woman shouldn't have been able to touch Doomsday, seeing he effortlessly was superior to Superman in every way. -.- Exactly, the others sucked balls, and only one able to actually do anything was Superman, one of my biggest gripes with the movie. Making everyone except Superman look weak, even in their face off, he owned the JL, no sweat. Far far stronger and faster than WW/Aquaman/Cyborg, as fast as The Flash, or very close to. Guess only thing he's missing, is Cyborgs ability to integrate into machines. :D I far preffered BvS take on their "powerlevels", where Supes only appeared slightly more powerful than WW. -.- They apparently retconned Wonder Womans ability to stand with the big boys, as in BvS where she fared well/held her own, against an opponent a good bit more powerful than Superman, (and far more than Steppenwolf, for that matter)... Now Supes easily solos her. :D God, this movie seems to be made by Superman fanboys. Success should have been through teamwork, not one man army... Fucks sake, this movie was frustrating. TL;DR: Yes, sadly. I actually like MoS and BvS (Ultimate edition). Also a huge fan of Watchmen, and 300 back in the day. Soo, there's that - and JL didn't feel like a Snyder movie at all. :/ He needs to get free hands, or nothing at all though, because JL was pretty bad. Still beats SS though, weee! Just wanna type in I wasn't hating on his Superman persona, that was pretty on point, but his power making everyone else seem weak and obsolete in comparison. He could easily have stopped this himself from what we saw. :| Even smiling as he was slowmo dodging Steppenwolfs punch, while almost appearing to be thinking "u guys having trouble with dis guy? lol"... -.- Didn't mind the BvS Superman persona though, he was much more human than comicbook-y. :P EDIT: And everytime WW acted tough, said a I'm-a gonna kick ass line, she got pwnt. Just too much heroes sucking, and Supes being the only one not sucking. Could have been great, if they made Aquaman super powerful in water, but noo, Steppenwolf easily kicked his ass on his hometurf too. And still I didn't feel anything in this movie except the disappointment in seeing heroes fail left and right. At least Marvel knows how to make them shine.. Soo, the user ratings aren't worth anything? :o (I'm asking here, as I've got no RT experience here :p) Hopefully none, and vice versa. Go watch both, people! ;) I'm geuinely greatly looking forward to both movies. Hope they'll both be god fucking awesome! The whole Thor theme screams awesome, the JL coming together of heroes and Steppenwolf screams awesome - please make a lot of money, the both of ya! Look at the growth rate of the "proto aliens". Minutes. Look at the growth rate of the first alien, from the dear captain. Minutes. Also look at facehugger time to fully grown Alien in the first movie - that shit didn't happen in mere hours "over night". This was a typical gore/horror scifi, that could have been a mediocre film standing alone, if it wasn't an Alien movie. I expect Alien movies to be consistent and intelligently written. This was neither. I'm so very dissappointed. :/
