I think a large part of the problem is where the network put it on the schedule: Friday night with Grimm leading into it. Though both shows are fantasies, Grimm is a cop procedural with monsters. It's fun fluff. EC is DARK. The audiences for the 2 shows are not necessarily the same. And the show should be on Sundays, like GoT.
It might have happened anyway. There were economic, social and politically forces in post-WW1 Germany that made my parent country ripe for something like Fascism, sadly.
Not that I would in any way mind Hitler having died an agonizing, prolonged, humiliating and very public death.
I don't think it's insane at all. I think the loss of dignity, courtesy, self-respect and the collapse of the social contract is sad. What is insane is today's barbarism. It disengagement have to be this way.
He's fucking Satan, period. Best film personification of the Devil ever.
Burton was worse than castrated. They cut his manhood off. They stole this idea from Earnest Hemingway. He had desire, but no relief.
Spartacus, much as I like it, was "300." Banshee was cut from new cloth. It was brutal and inspired. Spartacus, especially in the beginning, used a stylized violence that made battle look glamorous. Banshee's violence was brutal, ugly and real.
The French: cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
That's not insecurity. It's self-confidence. The writing on the show is brilliant, hence, it's not intended for the many.
I think that we can all agree that the writing on all the CW comic book shows blows dead weasels, and move on.
