I find it difficult to care also. Mary is literally ruining the series for me. Every episode she's in is sure to be annoying at this point. I thought The Raid was the worst episode of the season. Maybe 2.5/10? I'm still debating. I have to write a review and I'm struggling to get through the episode lol.
They brought him back so he could stand there and get shot. As underwhelming as the rest of the episode.

As long as I don't have to see her on my screen anymore, I don't care HOW they get rid of her although my preference is death. She brings down EVERY episode she's a part of.
Hopefully toward her fiery death in the finale. I like your mother parallel with Kelly but I saw it as Mary sacrifices her life the way Kelly will probably have to sacrifice hers. I would throw my TV if they have Mary raise the nephilim. That woman needs to take care of her own children, not somebody else's and especially not the child of the archangel who tortured her son, not that she cares who tortures Sam anyway as we've seen on the show.
Not sure how Mary gets involved in the nephilim situation but all I know is that when I see how fiercely Kelly is protecting her Satan baby, I can't help but go, aww, she's already a better mother than Mary. Okay, I'll get off the lawn now lol.
Interesting, thank you! I usually only read J2 con panels but I'll definitely check out Sam Smith's latest panel. I would love to "love her again" but I'm not sure she has a good grip on why we don't like Mary. It's really not because she doesn't sit in the kitchen baking pies all day. There's so much wrong with the character that I doubt she could make me "love her again" without a copious amount of apologizing, sons nurturing and overcompensating for the way she's treated her children thus far. Somehow, I don't really see it happening but we'll see. Season 12 is already kind of a wash with me so my expectations are at rock bottom lol.
I know it's part of their job, but I find it annoying when actors try to justify the wrongdoings of their character. At least Samantha readily admits that many fans are not on Mary's side.

The writers did too many things to destroy the brotherhood. There isn't enough focus on Sam and Dean anymore.

Yeah, we were all optimistic but in the grand scheme of things the show's still doing well. Yikes, Riverdale hit a new low at 0.3! Arrow's been free-falling this season and we beat them several times.
