Mr. Robot The Affair Outlander (still have to catch up with S2 though) I'm still a bit sad that I didn't get to see Garfield's Spidey in the MCU (imo his version was the best embodiment of the character). The new one is ok, but after Civil War I lost interest in the MCU. CW wasn't bad but so lame compared to the comic books. I had high hopes after what the Russo's had done with the The Winter Soldier, now I don't care anymore. Gay or not, there are many people who never let themselves be who they truly are. Because they want to be in line with what's seen as cool, successful etc. For me personally it's hard to realize who I actually am because I'm so shaped by society, media etc - although I'm not even living inside it completely (no smart phone, no facebook, try not to go with trends..). Still, it's not easy to know what's genuine inside. Sometimes I don't know if I have a real identity. Thanks, great interview. Cool, thanks! ---Happy Together--- Wonderful film! ---Here is the part that I most loved about the movie and the acting in it. Watch it again and pay attention to Black's posture, eyes and way of speaking, etc when he is around the members in his crew (who only know the new Black) vs when he meets his mother or Kev. When he meets the people from his past he suddenly is Chiron again. Kevin even mentions this when Black is in the Cafe. I could see Chrion in Black all through the last episode. --- I agree completely, it was stunning. Yes, I thought so too. Yeah, there's definitely Wong Kar-Wei in this. The 'lagged' handshake when they say goodbye after the beach scene and the moment when they embrace in the diner both scream Wong Kar-Wei. And of course CucurrucucĂș Paloma is a major giveaway. Not to forget: the cilantro. Most important!! :-) --so i appreciate the story but that isn't for me. i wanted to watch this movie tomorrow but thanks to you i found out about the gay theme and i don't feel an urge to watch it.-- It's not about being gay, it's about being your true self. Not necessarily. I think it's more likely that Chiron was just an easy target, and his (possible) homosexuality a perfect opportunity to humiliate him in public. You didn't understand my post. Of course I know what trending means, it's the boards with the most traffic. But since 'most recent' includes the most active boards, simply because they are showing up everytime someone posts, I don't see the problem. Should they rename it 'most recent' because that's more accurate? Yeah why not. But I don't want to see an actual trending list there because then we wouldn't see the more 'unusual' boards where people post. NO please leave it the way it is. Trending is included, because the boards with the most traffic are almost constantly up there anyway. I like it the way it is because it's interesting to see what other board people are commenting on. Leonardo DiCaprio --> Dane DeHaan Come on, you can't expect people to know stuff like like that. Apart from that, it's not bad to watch a movie without knowing what to expect. In some cases it even hightens the whole experience (when you watch it with an open mind, that is). ---The movie ultimately fails at making the audience connect to its central character--- For me this was true for a big part of the movie, but with introducing the third, the present version of him that changed completely. I felt extremely connected to that guy. I can't really tell why, I'm a woman and live a totally different life, but watching him go through his contradictory life, I felt almost as if I was part of him. So I can't fully agree with your statement. Apart from that this film has been staying with me in a way that only few have, so I assume there has been formed a connection on a deeper level that I might not be entirely aware of. I don't care much about the Oscars (I mean, getting an award doesn't make a movie any better), but I'm happy that this film is getting some recognition. How can you watch Juan cautiously coaxing Little and call this soulles? It's in the link, baby.
