Everyone who has not been here to offer opinions, http://movietvforums.com , please do.
Boards for popular titles mentioned this issue. The "Meet Me in St. Louis" board had a post asking what happened to the many contributions by people about their great enjoyment of this movie. On several boards it was said this issue was to do not with how old the first post on a thread was but how long ago the last reply was made. Yet something strange was going on. Some boards had posts as old as 2003, but when I recently checked the board for "The Exorcist," it had only about two pages' of posts going back a year or so, when such a phenomenally popular movie should have had many posts going far back. I posted on a number of boards related to that movie around two years ago, and while my post on the movie board was gone, a post made at the same time on a more obscure board for someone connected to the movie was still there--I received a reply to it very shortly before the boards went down.

P. S. Out of curiosity I checked the version here of the Contributors' forum to see if it was archived before my posts were removed and it seems that NO WAY was every post in every thread archived! The board here shows two ANNOUNCEMENT threads on Boards Closure FAQ, both with 9 posts apiece. The IMDb board had THREE such threads--two closed because they had reached their 600-post limit, and a third with under 600 posts. So unless they moved the posts in those threads over to their crummy little BS Get Satisfaction place BEFORE the archiving was done, not everything was archived...just sayin'.
Correction, you may have to cut and paste the link into your browser, then return, copy and paste the content, as this format does not automatically render links clickable.
imdb-484, in answer to your questions:
1. No, I was not CoriSCapnSkip on IMDb; I had a different username which I used my entire 17 years there. (As a matter of fact, Skip is my cat Skipper, 15 in June--so I didn't even have him when I created my IMDb account!)
2. Yes, my account there was deleted, and NOT by me!
I followed all the instructions given on the post above this one. I knew I couldn't copy my message board posts as over 1,000 still existed, so I made PDF files just listing the TITLES of threads to which I contributed. The list alone ran over 50 pages! I made PDF files AND a text document of all my reviews, for the purposes of contributing to whichever replacement site stood out as best.
ONLY AFTER TAKING THESE PRECAUTIONS did I share the list of suggestions, which you can see by copying and pasting the link into your browser, since it isn't clickable. That was one bad thing about the IMDb boards--not automatically making links clickable, so you had to remember to always highlight and select "Link." Any replacement board needs that feature BADLY--I am used to it on ALL other boards, Facebook, etc.
I shared the suggestions on as many IMDb main boards as applicable. Next thing I knew, all those posts were gone AND SO WAS MY ACCOUNT! I had been logged in all those years and when I tried to log in again was told no such account existed. A day or so later I went back thinking, maybe I made a mistake, maybe they asked for username and I accidentally typed email. I checked, and no, it was email all right, the same one I had used all along, and it still said no such account existed!
What may have tipped them off besides the posts themselves was I urged people to create troll accounts, then logged off while I made one, which I had never done before. The notice said only that I was blocked from using the boards, nothing about removing ALL my prior content from the site!
I checked on a couple of boards, while they were still up, where I HAD DEFINITELY POSTED, and NOT ONE of my over 1,000 contributions remained! Of boards they already intended to wipe a few days later! Showing nothing we can do to them can possibly be as petty and vindictive as they already are! Of course while the boards were still up, I logged in with my dummy account, but they were not allowing new users on the boards by then so I couldn't post anything. The dummy account is now logged out but is ready for use as needed for any little fun flash mob pranks such as divebombing certain titles with abusive 1-star reviews.
I hope they make fools of themselves by claiming traffic increased and someone produces facts and completely humiliates them.
Here is one not mentioned enough, probably because it is a forum only without a movie database. It would be really great for everyone to have a look here https://www.imdforums.com and consider all the features of these boards and what their originator has to say about their creation and his own credentials. We want whichever board we end up using to be the best format on the best platform currently available to avoid future disasters. If at all possible I would like to see us choose a format and perhaps merge the contents of two or more boards into the boards with the best format. Thank you.

Personally I'd rather see this site built up to stick it to THE MAN.
The top several alternative boards all offer nice features but I can't keep running to four boards the way I am currently doing.

Wanted to stay and chat with y'all all evening, but had to leave to go watch "Poltergeist." Priorities, dontcha know.
The last two I saw before that were also hugely popular, between 35 and 42 years old, and movies of which I had been aware since they came out but had never actually seen till now.
Look up definitions and descriptions of running the gauntlet.
Agree with your idea and also stuck on how to make them aware of what everyone is doing.
1. How to VERIFY each time when making a purchase elsewhere that until now would have been done on Amazon? Anyone could show products from other sites with, "Just spent such and such amount at Walmart or Sears or wherever," but how to PROVE you did so without revealing sensitive payment information? (Amazon has a purchase history and I plan to copy mine to compare before and after they tampered with the vital forces of nature. Perhaps other sites have purchase histories possible to save in some form such as as screenshots.)
2. How to bring this EACH TIME YOU DO IT to the attention of anyone in an official position? (They will only be impressed, of course, with new merchandise--if you buy a book or DVD at a thrift store or yard sale they won't care even if they sell it new.)
I suppose we could set aside a special area, even part of a board on a replacement website, and have people upload photographs of purchases fresh out of the box, to prove they are new, and photograph the box in which items came to prove they are not from Amazon. For purchases from brick and mortar stores maybe the item along with the sales slip...do sales slips reveal details which should not be shared? Then upload the photographs to the website.
Once a month the webmaster or whoever is designated to do so can bring the contents of the board to the attention of Amazon management. We could also spread these photographs on Facebook and Twitter with #suckitamazonforkillingimdb or the like. We could keep track of individual and overall totals, and award points for whoever sticks it to them the most.
The more features replacement sites are able to provide, the more users can and should delete their accounts at the evil former site. That's why it's important to get the replacement sites up and running.
About the most popular I do not know, but people need to have a look at https://www.imdforums.com and consider all the features of these boards and what their originator has to say about their creation and his own credentials. Agreed. Whichever website we end up going with, I am willing to work day, night, and Sunday for free to improve it WAY beyond stupid tired lame IMDb and make it the best of its kind anywhere!

If someone does, please provide a monthly, weekly, or even daily chart for the delectation of all to peruse and jeer their ongoing downfall while anticipating their inevitable demise.
