I never wanted a person dead...

I never wanted a person more dead than that horrid cretinous Marla (Pike) It blows my mind that there are people like her in this world.

At the end of this movie, everything turned out just fine.

reply

Agreed. I was losing my mind when she was making out well in the end. I had so much sympathy for that guy that shot her too, I cannot imagine how traumatic an experience like that would be for both his mother and him living with that.

Macon Blair (as the son) did an incredible job in his small amount of screen time. Perfectly conveyed the hurt and despair that most people would feel in that situation. He was the lead in an excellent, little seen film called Blue Ruin (2013). Pretty sure it's on Netflix.

reply

He was pretty good in The Green Room too.

reply

Green Room was intense. Another good team up of Blair and Jeremy Saulnier. They make really good movies.

I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore (2017) was Blair's directorial debut. Excellent film. Everything he does is quality.

reply

Fine?
1~ she said she was not scared of death, so no, it did not turn out just fine. She deserved waaaaay worse than a quick bullet, like extended torture and emotional pain.
2~speaking of which, that cunt assistant she was banging deserved the same extended torture, for her own actions and to punish marla. Instead she will get all her money. So, also not fine at all.
3~the carehome director deserved it too, and the judge deserved at least a bullet.
4~the poor guy that kills her will go to jail, instead of getting a medal.

This movie was NOT satisfactory at all.
See Dogville to understand what kind of satisfaction SHOULD HAVE happened instead.

I don't think the judge benefited from this scheme financially though, or at least it was never mentioned in the movie that they were in cahoots with him.

reply

No, he was just a blind, stupid, incompetent judge that enabled such a parasite to exist and operate. He deserved at least a bullet for that, don't you think?

In the last incident, after the mom tries to strangle her, a half decent judge would have ruled to assign another guardian, with no such a personal history against her. This imbecile instead keeps listening to this cunt's requests. (I know it's just shitty writing and judges are usually not that stupid, but in that world logic a mafioso should blame him too).

reply

To answer your first paragraph.....NO.

reply

No?
How many lives has he directly ruined by being a dumb accessory to this criminal?
He is there to administer the law in a fair and equal and COMPETENT fashion.
He is criminally incompetent.

There is a chunk of occupations that MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBILE for their actions. Judges, doctors, politicians, and some other key positions that directly affect the life of others in a major way cannot just shrug it off like a shitty Burger King employee that messed up your order.

I understand, sympathize and support the guy that shoots that cunt in the end.
She deserved it. So did all her accessories, like the assistant, the carehome director, the doctor (thank God she got it) and the judge.
Why would Marla be the only one to blame for this?

reply

I agree totally. The judge does not face any consequences. And that's disappointing.

reply

I think the judge was getting his own envelope every month.

reply

That is possible.
But if that's too directly criminal, he certainly was friends with these criminals, favored them, and probably accepted gifts now and then from them because they're all "good people".
As if, keep a level of corruption and involvement that is acceptable and legal.

...a level of corruption and involvement that is acceptable and legal.

A very common danger where judgeships are elected offices.

reply

She did her job then. Well acted

reply

Pike was really good.
