I think when the killings started is when I started to tune out due to, what I perceive to be, unrealistic reaction from all of the guests. It doesn't help the matters that all of the cooks/waiters went along with it. The reasoning behind the killings was also not particularly enticing either.

It could have been a realistic thriller/horror flick with some heavy story edits - the acting was pretty neat, the budget was there. Instead, we are shown a rather surreal horror flick, with all the necessary fallacies to make it work.

In the end, i wouldn't say it's a horrible film - but it's not good either. I suppose my reaction could have been different if I were drinking and watching it with friends - as then this film offers plenty of laughs and unexpected surrealism.

looks like something that would make me less-hungry, sure hope the guest weren't on the later menu.

But there really aren’t “killings” in the movie like you’d traditionally expect. It’s not like the guests were getting killed off one-by-one like a standard horror movie.

It was a world-renowned chef toying with his stupidly rich, pampered guests - they’re not used to be toyed with. It’s telling that the chef almost instantly knew that Margot didn’t belong there, and he afforded her an opportunity to escape. She wasn’t a part of the plan, and identified with her.

Yeah I was sort of drawn in at the beginning but when the silliness started happening I started rolling my eyes. I just was not interested in the characters or what was going on
