Hope it's as good as Discovery and Strange New Worlds
Because then I'll know it was the correct decision not to watch this crap.

shareHas there been anything Star Trek-related that wasn't total junk made since "Enterprise"? I heard parts of Picard Season 3 were okay, but I'm already too exhausted with overmilking of the franchise to care.
I thought the Kelvin movies were all popcorn nonsense but the new shows found ways of disrespecting Roddenberry even more.
I like the JJ Abrams' movies far more than any of the weapons-grade toxic trash Kurtzman made. I made the mistake of watching the first Season of Picard and refused to see any more of it. You couldn't even convince me to watch the 3rd season, regardless of how much "better" it is. I was burned that badly by Season 1.
I actually refused to watch Shitscovery, but I heard a lot about it from other people, and it's as bad as people say. Their fanbase must be extremely tiny. Only reason the show lasted as long as it did was because Netflix bankrolled the first two seasons and then they got rich backers for the last two, because they sure as hell didn't get anything from the 5 or 6 "fans" watching the show. To this day, they've been hiding the numbers on just how many people have actually watched that dumpster fire, but a good idea came from when they tried broadcasting the first two seasons on tv, and less than half a million people watched for the short time it was on.
I think my mom "used to" watch Discovery here and there, but outside of that I am not aware of anyone whoever watched it, and a lot of my friends are Trekkies. One friend of mine watched a few episodes of "Strange New Worlds" and was hyped about it for like a week. I wouldn't be surprised if Discovery, like a lot of other junk shows out now, were just giant money-laundering scams.
As pure trash as Trek is now, at least it resembles its old self slightly more than Doctor Who, and that comparatively would be a far easier show to fix.
Three major areas were a big turn-off for me with "Strange New Worlds."
1.) It was still being made by Secret Hideout Studios, so you know there will be chicanery.
2.) The look of the sets and the costumes do not line up at all with Pike's era of Star Trek. In fact, the Enterprise is inexplicably more shiny and advanced-looking than it was during Kirk's era.
3.) They completely broke canon with Spock meeting with T'Pring, not once, but twice before the events of "Amok Time." They also portrayed Vulcans as horny bastards....outside of the Pon Farr time, which makes no sense whatsoever.
The moment I detected those three things, nothing could induce me to watch that fanfiction. The few times I had the misfortune of catching the show on tv when my [desperate for entertainment] dad and brother were watching, I was angry at how boring and lackluster their version of Kirk was. In fact, Shitscovery and Pee-Hard cemented my conviction of not watching anything Secret Hideout Studios makes, no matter how "Star-Trekkie" it appears.
I heard about the shitshow Dr. Who turned into. All they need to do is get rid of both Russel T. Davies and Shitty Gatwa, bring in someone who actually likes the original, pre-woke Dr. Who shows, and get rid of all the gay crap.
