What does the third eye do?

It did not seem to do anything in the movie, but the ending seems implying there is some significance.

I suspect people who read the comic books might know the answer.

Pure fan speculation!

So far we have no evidence of anything but a headache, so as of now... headaches only is CANON.

It's something to do with the Eye of Agamotto, and allows him to do and see other crap.

Isn't the Eye of Agamotto container of time stone? I don't think that eye works as time stone.

Also Eye of Agamotto, whatever spell it contains, should be from the book of the Vishanti.

The third eye seems to be the result of using the book of Darkhold.
